Moderate tempo with Amalyte leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. HENRY THOMAS (1) fought on gamely from a wide gate at Riccarton last start over 2000m. The extra furlong is ideal, and more importantly, Tina Comignaghi takes over the reins. On top. PRIVATE TREATY (5) made up a lot of late ground over the mile on the Riccarton poly track nearly 3 weeks ago. She is back up in trip, and with a nice swing in her draw, she will be hard to hold out this time. THE BOSS GIRLS (7) has a short sprint on her, and with a patient ride, she can have a say in the finish here. Each way. TAIMATE STAAR (6) stuck on bravely after racing handy to the pace throughout at Cromwell last start. She is peaking at the right time and is ready now to put her best hoof forward. AVIVA (4) has been trying to win a race for some time, and has been thereabouts in all 4 starts this prep. Include in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Henry Thomas to win.
