Solid tempo likely from the outset with a number of speedy beginners engaged, most notably Hamano Kyoken and High Willhays. WALD STAR (10) was in commission second up last start and was in the frame for the second time in as many runs this prep, finishing third over 1400m at this track. Overdue and gets his chance to break through. WHITE SHIP (12) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish 11th, beaten 15 lengths, over 2400m at Niigata. Well placed and expected to feature. LAST FRONTIER (3) finds it hard to win with just one success from 11 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fifth over 1400m at this track, beaten 11 lengths. Placed to advantage and can run a bold race. HIGH WILLHAYS (9) resumes from a spell of six months and looked close to a win before that break, finishing off with a minor placing over 1400m at this track. Taking on a longer trip to kick off this prep. Rates highly on best form and should be in the mix.
