The pace looks even at best given a lack of early speed. UTENA (3) settled at the rear then stoked up nicely in the straight to finish fourth over 1400m here last time. Can easily finish right over the top of these. MELIA (9) finished sixth over 1400m at Mizusawa at her most recent appearance on June 14. One of the genuine hopes in the race. BIG SARARA ROOF (6) worked home well and finished 3.5 lengths from the winner in fourth last start over 1400m at this track, an improvement on her ninth at this track the run before. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. YAMANO MATAKA (4) settled well back from a wide draw last time then wound up strongly to finish fifth over 1600m at this track. Among the chances.
