Anticipating a genuine tempo over the 1000m journey. SAFE TRAVEL (10) produced an encouraging debut effort when finishing third over this distance at the Vaal last start when sent out at long odds. He was green in the running and stayed on at the finish. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat. READY SET FIRE (1) returns from a long spell and is having his first run for Lucky Houdalakis. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and if fit, he can figure in the finish. ICONIC WINTER (8) was running on well when third on debut over 1160m on this course last start. She returns from a spell. She has ability and would not be a shock winner. BUMPS LAST GRIND (2) raced on the speed last start and finished second of eight when resuming from a spell last start over 1000m at Turffontein. Will strip a lot fitter and having a good draw to jump from can go one place better.
