Genuine tempo from Maximus Augustus leading Deciphering Me. PROUDTOBEHERE (6) won her penultimate start here over this trip, and then rocketed home for fourth in a deeper field on this track 4 weeks ago from near last on the home turn. She can settle a tad closer from a superior draw this time, and if the gaps open up at the right time, she can have the last say. EXPLODE (5) was not too far away when out of the money at Riccarton 8 days ago, racing too keenly in the running. The quick 8-day backup will suit him, and he can bounce back into the top 4 placings. READY RESPONSE (3) resumes from a spell for a new trainer, and he was last seen racing at Trentham last spring when finishing well back as the favourite. He maps to receive the run of the race from the pole position, and he will be ready to rumble, especially if the money comes for him. MAGNASTAR (2) finished a length from the winner when finishing a game fourth at Oamaru 2 weeks ago. Stick with him. SHAMEL EXPRESS (4) ran a much better race second up at Oamaru, and he won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ready Response each way.
