Maria Pilar and Dracarys to take up the running at a strong tempo. VITEBSK (10) did not see out the 1600m here 4 weeks ago when dropping out meekly in the run to the line. She will be ridden back, and with cover from a wide draw over 1200m, and if the gaps come her way, then she can have the last say at some good each-way value in this. MONTE CIVETTA (1) is a staying mare resuming from a long spell over a trip well short of her best. She has won twice in heavy ground, and any market support will be worth following. LITTERAL (6) needed her fresh up run here 4 weeks ago when making her South Island debut 4 weeks ago. She won her only race in the North Island on a heavy track, and she can improve quickly enough to take this out. Stick with her. NOBELLEM (2) has raced her way into some good form on a heavy track here, and she is overdue for another win. Include in all combos. EXPLOSIVE LASS (7) ran on stoutly late when finishing second fresh up at Riccarton 12 days ago, and a heavy track here is no problem. She is likely to be running on late again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Litteral each way.
