A solid tempo on the cards with Spills taking charge. GURU CLASS (4) win record hardly excites but coming along nicely this prep. Held a forward position from the wide draw and showed a ton of grit when third over 1420m at this track. The engagement of Ben Looker is a positive move. Hard to hold out. HE'S A COPY BOY (5) trained on the track and gets nice weight relief with the 3kg claim. Strong through the line when a narrow sixth over 1500m at Port Macquarie. Tempo suits and has solid top three prospects. FRIEND IN NEED (6) drifted back in the heavy (10) conditions before mowing them down late to score a head victory over 1300m at Ballina. Further improved and can win again. KATDEEL (2) had mixed fortunes this time in and drops in trip after finishing seventh over 1800m at the Gold Coast. Assess on his good run two back at Doomben. Don't dismiss. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 4,5,6,2.
