Expecting a moderate pace headed by Il Americana and Mayeki. Despite finishing at the tail last time FETES DES MERES (8) may be worth another chance. Yet to really run a bad race in four starts, the latest sitting wide throughout and tiring when well fancied at Geelong. Change of rider and gets chance to atone. GIANT'S REPRIEVE (2) ran on well to finish in the minor money on debut and can only be improved. Has the claim and drawn for a soft run. Should have something to offer late. STEALING SOULS (13) is a former Queenslander who showed good ability in four starts there. Best figures stack right up here so keep very safe. IL AMERICANA (9) progressed nicely last time out to finish just half a length from the winner in second over 1400m at Kerang after being on speed. This no easier but has the handy claim and drawn for a soft run. Could be value. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fetes Des Meres can bounce back.
