Expecting Uncle Charlie to set a genuine tempo after crossing from wide out. THE BOSSMAN (2) made ground on debut when finishing fourth over 2060m at Whanganui, and he would have taken a lot of benefit from that hit-out. He had won a trial well enough before that, and in a very modest field here, he is the one to beat. LES BOOTS (6) needed the run badly when finishing eighth in the same field as the top pick when resuming from a spell. He will be a rapid improver, and can figure in the top 4 here. JUST TED (5) only plodded on when finishing well back on debut at Whanganui 2 weeks ago over 1600m. The extra 600m will make a difference, and he is worth including in all top 4 combos. BETTY WILLDOIT (9) has whacked away in her last couple of starts over similar trips to this, and she is good enough to run into the top 4 again.
