Small field but plenty of pace engaged, including Winding Power, Fully Loaded and Reece's Wish. CALLA LAGOON (1) is on debut for the Stuart Pettigrew stable. Five-year-old entire by New Bay from Orchid Lily. Looks set to run well. Betting watch recommended. REECE'S WISH (5) has enjoyed a let-up of seven-and-a-half weeks since she won when resuming over 1450m at Vaal, scoring by 1.3 lengths. Open to plenty of improvement and is expected to feature in the finish. WINDING POWER (4) was a strong winner last time over 1600m at Turffontein Standside, scoring by nearly a length to make it three on end. Has the pace to settle in the leading division. One of the main contenders. DIOGENES (2) finished tenth over 2000m in Group 1 class at Greyville at his most recent appearance on May 30. Has to be respected.
