BETTER BLITZEM (1) showed early speed from an outside draw last time out and led for much of the way before just finding one better at the end of 1200m at Townsville. Will go forward again and looks very tough to beat despite the heavy impost. ALBERTA BOUND (2) is coming off a last-start fourth, beaten 5 lengths, over 1200m at Townsville. Gets Wiggins on top and rates among the leading chances. DUB STEPPING (3) was out of the money two runs back then again just missed the frame last start over 1200m at Townsville, beaten 5.5 lengths into fifth. Finds a suitable assignment and can get the job done. LONG TALL JAMES (6) was in the placings when 2.5 lengths away from the winner last time at Mareeba on soft going. Might be one for the multiples at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Better Blitzem.
