NUM TIME COMMENT
1 09:55 Maiden Race 1200m
SISKIN BLOOM (1) raced handy on debut last start and gave a good sight, holding on for second and beaten 1.3 lengths over 1400m at Hanshin. Improver who looks far too good for this small field. ISABELLE (4) stepped out on her debut over 1400m at Hanshin three weeks ago and finished 11th, beaten 11 lengths. Much better for that run and can run the quinella. KURIKO KIANA (5) was never really a threat on debut last start over 1400m at Hanshin, finishing 9 lengths from the winner in tenth. Expected to run much better this time. SMART MEMORY (2) never really threatened on debut, finishing midfield and beaten 11 lengths over 1200m at Hanshin. Better for that outing and is an exotics prospect.
2 10:30 Maiden Race 1000m
JASPER BLAZE (10) showed good early pace last time and battled on gamely to finish just half a length from the winner in second over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt when first-up from a spell. Strips fitter and can find the winner's circle. SMASHING (14) showed good early speed and led into the straight before fading to finish fourth, beaten 6 lengths, over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt. Should be tough to rein in. ALM APOGEE (7) was well fancied last time but could only manage third over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt after being well positioned to strike on the bend. One of the contenders. MOZU M V P (4) was solid on debut last start when beaten 3.5 lengths into sixth over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt on May 3. Plenty of scope for improvement.
3 11:00 Maiden Race 1800m
BAROCCA NERA (16) has only raced once and finished 0.6 lengths away in third over 1600m at Hanshin 11 weeks ago. Jumps from a wide draw but she looks the one to beat. REIZEND REISE (8) is yet to break through in seven runs. Finished fifth at her last appearance over 1800m at Hanshin on June 7. This offers her a great chance of breaking through. ALOHA (7) has been kept fresh for this since a disappointing 11th last start over 1600m at Kyoto six weeks ago. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Will be in this for a long way. AURORA BOREALIS (10) gave away a big start at the top of the straight last start and finished 2.75 lengths from the winner in sixth over 1600m at Kyoto. Worth plenty of thought.
4 11:30 Maiden Race 1700m
ISLAND (8) settled worse than midfield then ran well last start to finish third on debut over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Likely improver who probably won't find this as tough so he should be in the finish again. CHAMPAGNE STAR (6) improved last start to finish third over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt after being in contention on the corner. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. LUCKY VOGUE (13) did little and finished 6 lengths from the winner in eighth over 1200m at Kyoto Dirt last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth at Kyoto Dirt the run before. Finds a nice race and can play a significant role. UPTURN DAY (14) stepped out on his debut over 1400m at Niigata eight weeks ago and finished tenth, beaten 6 lengths. Worth following up.
5 12:20 Newcomer Race 1200m
CAELI LUX (6) is a daughter of Siskin from the Listed winner Faccio Io who makes her debut. Strong profile and should play a role in the finish. LIEVE (2) is a two-year-old colt by Gendarme out of Hanaogi stepping out on debut for the Takeshi Matsushita stable. Leading prospect on face value, with betting holding the key. WAZZA IKA (1) is a two-year-old colt on debut from the stable of Mikio Matsunaga. By Suave Richard from Rolander. Good draw a big help. Respect any positive move in betting. KASHINO CHROSITE (4) is a two-year-old filly on debut from the stable of Y Kitade. By Cape Blanco from Kashino Inca Rose. Worth watching for a betting push.
6 12:50 Maiden Race 2000m
VIP WOLF (9) made significant late ground last start to get up for second over 2000m at Hanshin. Rock hard fit after three runs back from a break and is expected to be in the finish again. CROSS BORDER (8) has been in the betting recently but has failed to live up to market expectations. Most recently finished fourth over 1800m at Hanshin, beaten 3.5 lengths. Capable enough so worth another chance. FLARE OF SENSE (1) showed good early muster and fought on to finish third last start over 2000m at Hanshin. Drawn to enjoy a good run on the speed. Looks well placed so expect another big run. SCRUMPTIOUS (2) could only manage to finish fifth, beaten 3 lengths, at his latest appearance over 2200m at Hanshin. Should be about the money.
7 01:20 Allowance Race 1700m
CHOCOLAT PUDDING (12) turned in a nice run last time to finish third over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt. Likely improver who finds a race thin on quality. Should prove too strong this time. ANRI BABY (15) made progress last time out, finishing 2.5 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 1700m at Fukushima Dirt. Worth noting Kohei Matsuyama goes aboard. Nicely placed to find winning ways. HOSHO LUX (13) resumes after a break of three-and-a-half months. Did win at her only other first-up run when on debut, scoring over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt. Should be prominent. ZARATAN (11) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a fifth over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Likely improver who can fill a top four spot.
8 01:50 Allowance Race 1200m
MELONE (3) returns from a layoff of nine weeks. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 1200m at this track. Comes here with definite claims. LEONARD STAR (8) produced a good run two starts back to finish third but failed to live up to market expectations last time when out of the placings at Kyoto over the same trip. Likely improver with strong prospects. BULL'S EYE PRINCE (2) finished out of the money two starts back then he was always well out of his ground and was beaten 5.5 lengths when tenth over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt eight weeks ago. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. DOLCE MISTO (1) has not appeared since she finished 12th over 1200m at Hanshin on April 11. Makes each-way appeal.
9 02:20 YATSUSHIRO TOKUBETSU 2000m
SAVOIRE FAIRE (4) drifted well back last start then wound up strongly to finish fourth, beaten 3 lengths, over 2200m in the G2 Kyoto Shimbun Hai. Has a massive class edge on this field and should finish right over the top of these. DANON ATLAS (1) doesn't have the best strike rate but ran a strong race when resuming from a spell last time out over 2000m at Niigata, finishing third and beaten 1.1 lengths. Must raise the bar but he has the ability to fill the quinella spot. NOMBRE D'OR (2) is back at the races for the first time since April 4. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 1800m at Kyoto. Makes plenty of each-way appeal. ZENNO INVOKE (7) finished second last time over 2000m at Fukushima, beaten half a length. Likely improver with top three claims.
10 02:55 MUNAKATA TOKUBETSU 1200m
SADIQ (11) ran on strongly only to just miss last start over 1200m at Kyoto, making it four top three finishes in succession. Given an eight-week let-up since that run. Great chance to pick up where she left off. HOLY BLOSSOM (2) is back from a break of three-and-a-half months. Raced below par at her only appearance last prep when eighth over 1400m at Chukyo. Taisei Danno stays aboard. Sure to run well. JENNIFER (4) improved sharply on her fourth two starts back at Fukushima with success over 1200m at Niigata seven weeks ago, getting home by one length after being in the firing line on the turn. Taking on a better line-up this time but she deserves plenty of thought. LORD TRESOR (8) lines up for the first time since March 8. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Definite top-three chance.
11 03:30 SATSUMA STAKES 1700m
SHIN BELIEVE (13) returns from a layoff of 11 weeks. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Should be hard to stop. ARENA PALACIO (12) took advantage of the good draw when resuming from a spell last start and led for much of the way before finishing second, beaten 1.75 lengths, over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt. Well-placed and should be tough to rein in again. STOP YEARNING (11) did well to score at Kyoto Dirt two runs ago. Decent effort last time out when fourth over 1900m at Kyoto Dirt, beaten 2.75 lengths. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. PUFF (15) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt, beaten 3 lengths. Fitter so can figure in the finish.
12 04:15 Allowance Race 1200m
TANA SUPERNOVA (8) got off the mark over 1200m at Kyoto last start, scoring by 1.5 lengths. Progressing well and this looks a very winnable assignment. PIERCED EARS (2) ran a strong third over 1200m at Fukushima two runs back then was below his best last time over 1400m when fifth, beaten 3.5 lengths. Kept fresh since that last run - can feature. RIPI (6) returned from a spell three weeks ago when she was beaten 5 lengths into sixth over 1400m at Hanshin. Fitter and sure to run well. LE BRILLANT (1) returns from a layoff of seven months for new trainer Ryo Takahashi. Filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1200m at Fukushima. Worth including.
