DA Signs Maiden Plate 1400m
Expecting Summoned Lou to set a strong tempo off the inside along with Forrest Gump. FORREST GUMP (1) looks a natural runner who showed good pace when resuming last time out and boxed on to finish a head from the winner in third at Wangaratta over 1300m. Better for that and while he does have a potentially-tricky wide draw to overcome, he looks well-placed to get the chocolates. YOU SAID WHAT (14) was below her best last time out when 10 lengths from the winner in tenth over 1412m at Echuca. That was in contrast to the two earlier runs this preparation, so she needs to be forgiven that, especially from a favourable draw here. NEDHAMMER HEN (5) was 5 lengths from the winner in fifth over 1400m at Sale last time following a minor placing on debut the run before. Well placed and gets his chance to break through. NARILAO (4) has a nightmare gate to overcome, but arrives off a couple of trial wins (albeit ridden out) and won't need to be a superstar to feature. SUMMONED LOU (8) has to be respected on the run two back, which was at this track. SUGGESTED PLAY: Forrest Gump. |

M Force Security Maiden Plate 1100m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Doesn't appear to be a heap of quality among the raced brigade, which opens the door for a couple of first-starters. NO CONFETTI (12) is a 2YO who comes here off two trials, the first a narrow second placing at Flemington and was again close-up when second at the Caulfield Heath. Seemed to have a bit more in hand than the winner in the latter and looks primed for a big debut. Goes on top because he's drawn better than the other debutant who's been impressing at the trials, WRITTEN ORDER (5). Has won his only four jumpouts, three of them this time in, a couple in effortless fashion. He looks to have a bit of talent, just need to overcome the wide gate. ESTIVAL (8) has drawn even worse but has also impressed at the trials, showing a good turn of foot to win a recent Seymour trial, and she might have improved between campaigns. BELLA KATELYN (6) ran an improved race last start and can go on with it. MORDU (1) was adequate on debut and draws well. SUGGESTED PLAY: No Confetti to win, save on Written Order. |

Naubro Kerb Maiden Plate 2050m
Expecting a genuine tempo with Sir Basil setting the tone from an outside draw, joined by Excellent Reward. ATE IRON (1) was beaten 5.5 lengths into fifth in a 1500m contest at Caulfield Heath last time out. Even though he was beaten a long way, that's clearly the strongest form line and he'll probably be better for it given it was his first start in almost a month after being scratched several times. SIR BASIL (6) ran a much-improved race up in trip last and he jumps further in distance here, which might be of advantage. MEKA VIBE (5) finished 4.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1590m at Wangaratta two weeks ago. Steps up in journey and looks a leading hope. TRICKEMEZI (7) finished out of the money two starts back then he was always well out of his ground and was beaten 8 lengths when fourth in a 2000m contest at Wangaratta two weeks ago. The run at that trip could prove a big plus here. LONG SHOT (3) disappointed when highly-fancied last start in what was a too-bad-to-be-true performance so might be worth another go given the run prior. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ate Iron to win. |

Baxters Concrete BM52 Handicap 2050m
Solid pace on the cards with Beached As Bro and Goats On Oats who like to get rolling early. Although the emergency, FIRST DAY (13) is the highest-rated runner in the race and will be the testing material if he gains a start. Been beaten reasonable margins of late, but he's been tackling tougher races than most rivals here and gets his best chance at a fourth career win. TAUPO TIGER (5) is another down in grade, will be better for two runs at this trip and draws perfectly. GRUNNETTAN (4) progressed nicely last start to finish a close second over 2200m at Ballarat Synthetic after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. GOATS ON OATS (7) boasts more consistent form than most rivals here and on the home track, where he finished second as recently as three starts ago, has to be given serious consideration. DANISH HUSSAR (8) finished 6 lengths away in 7th last time over 1750m at Canberra. Steps up in journey today, but is down in grade and for that reason he warrants thought. SUGGESTED PLAY: First Day to win. |

Parkside Produce BM52 Handicap 1100m
Plenty of pace established by Shooting For Stars, Platinum Executive and Barn Zee, with Safe And Warm close at hand. BRONCO REVOLUTION (9) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1000m at Seymour, beaten 4.5 lengths into fourth. Back to 0-52 grade here and seems sure to play a pivotal role. KAZOTSKY (7) missed the placings first up recently but was not too far from the winner when sixth over 1000m at Wangaratta. That was in 62 grade and won in 52 company at the final start of last prep. Has the added advantage of gate 1. I'M AIRBORNE (5) finished 4.5 lengths adrift in sixth last time at Albury in a disappointing performance. This more suitable though, so beautifully placed and is sure to be there at the finish. FIRST DIVISION (11) has been racing more consistently than most rivals and hasn't been beaten far in all runs this prep, so no reason he doesn't give this a shake. BARN ZEE (6) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid second at Narrandera over 1200m. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bronco Revolution to win. |

Picklebet's Get Your Pickle On BM52 Handicap 1300m
Deebaa should lead at a strong tempo. Tough one to try and sort out pre-scratchings with the two highest-rated runners in the race the fifth and sixth emergencies. The latter, DUBAI FOUNTAIN (18), looks the testing material if she can sneak a run. Her last start run, beaten 1-3/4 lengths in a 0-56 at Bendigo, looks the best form in the race and it followed a nice third at Echuca in similar grade the start prior. Similarly, ARABIAN MYTH (17) was beaten only 2-1/2 lengths in a 0-56 at Bendigo last start and should be at peak fitness now. Big thing in his favour is the low draw. MISS HIMALAYA (10) was beaten a whisker in a BM56 at Kyneton four back and while the recent form has not been as compelling, she's been going around in races with more depth than this. KING DE LUNE (2) will find this easier than the two runs back and draws to play a key role. ALESUND (1) is another whose figure-form reads terribly but has been competing in tougher races than this, but he's got a poor gate to contend with. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dubai Fountain to win. |

Wodonga Jewellers BM52 Handicap 1590m
Solid tempo with Lord Chapel, Vegas On Fire and Watoto going hard, closely attended by Elvis. EAU DE COLOGNE (3) has only won one of 11 starts and hasn't finished better than 6th in six runs in the past 12 months, but this is his first look at BM52 grade. Ran up to a nice trial when beaten just over two lengths first-up at Bendigo and is a second-up winner in the past. VEGAS ON FIRE (7) is a model of consistency who probably needs to be forgiven last start when unable to lead because she draws to take control here. INFER (1) comes off a win in the Drought Breaker, form that generally needs to be treated with caution, but that was his first start for Toby Lake and this looks a suitable next step. BOY FROM TENNESSEE (6) finished 3.5 lengths away in fifth last time out over 1400m at Narrandera two weeks ago and might be suited up in trip. BOMERTON (5) ran on strongly but just failed to pick up the winner last start over 1600m at Narrandera. Steps up a level but he is capable of another big run from a good draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Eau De Cologne to win. |
