NUM TIME COMMENT
1 10:45 FAY & KALAN'S MEMORIAL SUPER MAIDEN PLATE 900m
Expecting Shinko Star to lead The Way Ahead at just a moderate tempo. MISTY VEIL (7) was sent around as a $2.20 favourite first-up over this course and distance but was never a chance after a tardy beginning. Clearly has more to offer and if Maher has sorted out her barrier manners this is a winnable race. LADY SEGOSHA (6) made steady ground without threatening on debut last time out over today's track and trip. Open to plenty of improvement so it will be no surprise to see her finish a lot closer today. KISS OF GOLD (5) made late ground but found the winner a shade too strong when fresh from a spell in that same 900m maiden here three weeks ago. Lightly raced filly who can improve enough to take this out. TERRA LUMINA (3) had his chance last start but just couldn't finish his race off. Very fit after three runs back and from a good draw is worth including in exotics. BOBBY (1) filled a placing for the first time when fresh from a spell over this course and distance last time. Can go on with it now.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Giving Misty Veil another chance.
2 11:20 INDEPENDENT MOBILITY & REHAB PROVINCIAL 3YO&UP MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m
Poshy's Girl and See Diamond can pave the way. STABILITY (8) was six weeks between runs when a game third last start over 1400m here, leading for home before being claimed late. Fitter for that run and the step back to 1200m looks a good move. Sure to give backers a great sight. POSHY'S GIRL (5) has been about the mark at all three runs to date including a commendable second over 1300m at this track two runs ago. Maps beautifully from a favourable draw. Comes here in preference to an easier Taree race midweek which is a confident signal from the Lees camp. LADY OF THE CASTLE (9) has transferred to the Nathan Doyle yard and is back from a 20-week spell. Best of three runs with O'Shea/Charlton was an eye-catching second on debut over 1100m at Gosford. Trialling well and looks set to make an immediate impact. ALGORITHMIC (1) has switched from Team Hawkes to Nikki Hodgson and is back from a 24-week lay-off. Best form stacks up so keep him in mind. ENCRYPTIX (2) has impressed at both runs to date and looks ready for a step up in trip.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stability each-way in a good maiden.
3 11:55 HUNTER STREET CHAMBERS MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
Slam Dunk should have enough pace to lead a low-pressure contest. ARTGIRL (9) ended a run of three minor placings in town with a disappointing effort over this distance at the Kensington track last start. Was pushed along early then raced three-wide without cover so there was an excuse. Genuine filly as a rule so give her another chance. AGRAFFE ROCKET (1) has come from worse than midfield on straightening to fill minor placings at his two runs this prep, the latest over this trip at the Kensington circuit. Heading towards a maiden win although a wide gate here dampens the enthusiasm a little. PINK PERSUASION (12) registered her sixth top three finish in eight starts when a close second over 1450m at the Illawarra Grange track recently. Racing well deep into her prep and should be competitive again. Recent Rosehill trial winner VIVA MAURICIO (8) performed well in town last prep and looks set for a bright return from a 19-week spell. RED SENTINEL (6) did enough on debut at the Kenso 17 days ago to suggest he can play a key role in this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Artgirl to bounce back and score.
4 12:30 SKILLSONS CONSTRUCTIONS PTY LTD CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1400m
Not much gate speed on show enabling Turning Circle to roll to the front.  Two smart youngsters collide in an interesting race. AETHELWULF (2) was well backed when resuming last start over this course and distance and the money was spot on as he destroyed his rivals with a dazzling turn of foot. Gives every indication he will be winning better races and can pick this one up along the journey. FUNSHOW (3) is the obvious threat after he too scored a massive maiden win last time out, leading all the way to win by five over 1300m here. Might be tough to catch if allowed to control things. TURNING CIRCLE (15) made a late challenge but failed to pick up the winner recently over 1300m at Hawkesbury. Has raced 20 times for just one win so she has probably bottomed out compared to the top pair, but a top three finish is in reach. PRINCE HARRISON (6) had a 37-day break before a modest effort over 1200m at Gosford last start. Fitter and better placed out to this trip. WHERE'S MY HALO (12) returned impressively here last time out and can improve further.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen to be with Aethelwulf.
5 01:05 P&K GARAGE DOORS 2YO HANDICAP 1300m
Certain to be a strong tempo with Fiery Heart, Street Jewel and Hailstones leading the charge. STREET JEWEL (10) led for home and gave plenty of cheek but was eventually overwhelmed on debut last start over 1100m at Gosford. Can set a less frantic tempo over an extra 200m today and with race smarts now on board he will be tough to catch. HAILSTONES (2) stalked the pace then went home a shade too well on debut last time out over this distance at Scone. Has a tricky gate to contend with but he should progress from that last outing and play a big role again. GENESIS RUNNER (8) was rock solid at $2.40 on debut last start over 1200m here but after getting back to near last on settling was left with too much to do. Trialled since to hopefully get his mind switched on at the start. Clearly talented and can improve without surprising. BALTUSROL (6) showed pace to the turn but wilted late on debut over 1150m at the Kensington track. Can stick on a bit longer with less pressure up front today. Gai and Adrian's FIERY HEART (7) is a likely improver at just his second appearance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Street Jewel to win an interesting race.
6 01:40 PEABODY 2YO HANDICAP 1300m
Moderate pace only with Ultimate Warrior leading Don't Doubt Frank. DIVINE OFFERING (1) bungled the start then dusted off and attacked the line with venom to be beaten under a length on debut last start over 1250m at Canterbury. Can improve with that race experience now onside. Looks a great chance to break through, particularly on this roomy circuit. ULTIMATE WARRIOR (6) was handy enough in the run but weakened last on debut in the same race as Divine Offering. Did a bit wrong that day so a more polished performance should see him in the finish. SHORT SEA (2) drove hard late to grab second on debut over 1150m at the Kensington track. Has a sticky gate to contend with but he should be powering home down this long straight over a bit more ground. DON'T DOUBT FRANK (8) has been thereabouts at his two starts to date. Enjoys a soft run from the inside alley and cannot be underestimated. IMINASTATE (4) is in the mix dropping back from Saturday metro company at his last two runs.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Divine Offering.
7 02:20 DOCS JHH PHARMACY MIDWAY BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1850m
Little early speed on offer so Mamma Mia should be prominent. TEQUISODA (5) was well in commission last Saturday over 2000m at Kembla but after settling back in the field was unable to pick up sufficiently in the race won by today's rival Sablonneuse. Coming back a little in trip looks a good option. Gets all the favours from gate one so prepared to give him another chance. CLAIM THE CROWN (1) improved out of sight last start when second-up from a spell, travelling closer to the pace then hanging on well for third over 1900m at Canterbury. Not a prolific winner but this sets up nicely at the third run back. ALLEGRO MISS (2) was only 2.2 lengths off the winner over a similar distance to this at Randwick last weekend. Races well here and this is her pet trip so she makes plenty of appeal. SABLONNEUSE (7) was far too good despite being a month between runs over 2000m at Kembla seven days ago. Back in trip but is going well and can run another big race. POLO (8) is one to consider as she gets out to this trip for the first time.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Tequisoda in a difficult race.
8 03:00 CYSTIC FIBROSIS BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1200m
Reasonable tempo with Oakfield Neptune probably leading but a few others should keep her honest.  OAKFIELD NEPTUNE (2) led all the way for a convincing first-up win over 1250m here two back then failed a repeat performance by just a long neck last start, again here at 1250m. Lightly raced mare who makes her own luck and it will take a big effort to run her down. EXTRIO (7) scored a tidy first-up win at Moruya then found the class beyond her at Canterbury last time. Worth another chance back in this more suitable contest. RUN RORY RUN (8) opened this campaign with an eye-catching third over 1250m at Taree, clocking in less than a length from the winner. Second-up form isn't great but this veteran retains a zest for racing and looks to be back in fine order. Lightly raced filly BIANCA MIA (10) is back after a four-month spell. Very competitive last time in work in comparable races to this. Two trials in June should have her right up to the mark. FAN HARDER (4) disappointed at Warren last start but is better than that.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Oakfield Neptune is one of the better bets on the card.
9 03:35 SHAW GIDLEY & RIVER CITY FORM PTY LTD BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1200m
Expecting Cobra Club to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. PRINCESS CRUIZER (7) has contested a couple of 900m scampers of late and found the opposition too slick. Has raced here over 1200m nine times for seven top three finishes. In the right race to bounce back to form. ANDALE ANDALE (1) has been in work for ages but is thriving. Made it two in a row when she stalked the pace then quickened impressively to salute over 1280m at Muswellbrook last time out. Building an impressive record and is hard to fault of late. ELLISMAYNE (9) was there to pounce but didn't run a strong 1400m at this track at his latest appearance a fortnight ago. Best form comes at 1200m so from a nice gate he comes right into calculations. EQUILIBRIST (3) is back after a two-month lay-off. Three-time winner at this trip so must be respected although he will be better for the run. ROMA GREEN (4) tasted defeat for the first time when fresh from a spell over 1250m at Canterbury recently. Fitter and capable of sharp improvement.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Princess Cruizer on top.
10 04:10 MATTARA DRY CLEANING CONDITIONAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1400m
Solid tempo with Diamond Model leading from Line Of Fire and Rebel Rhapsody.  REBEL RHAPSODY (5) had been racing extra well on the provincial circuit before tackling an open mile at Taree last start and struggling. Far better placed back to 1400m so give him another chance. MYRIAD (7) improved sharply last time out at the second run of the campaign, closing a shade too well at the end of 1200m at Wyong. New to this trip but he is very fit and looks up to the task. AUZSTAR (2) had a five-week let-up before being narrowly defeated by Tanglewood Jimmy here at this trip three weeks ago - Jimmy subsequently ran a big race in town this week. Honest veteran who is deep in contention. CROP DUSTER (1) did little at Gosford last time but the key is his return to Newcastle where he has an impressive six wins from 11 starts, three at today's journey. The stats speak for themselves. LAUREL HILL (3) has a terrible gate to contend with but she is an honest mare who looks hard to beat dropping back to the provincials.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rebel Rhapsody to return to winning form.
