Sportsbet Race Previews Handicap 1000m
Good pace from Rubare, Angelic Rise and Neotropical. Wide open two-year-old affair to kick off proceedings. STAKES (5) can run well on debut. He's a gelding by Capitalist for the Hayes yard who looked very sharp winning a recent jumpout, cruising to the line there in fine style. Expect he measures up first time of asking. ASTON (3) has had two runs to date, getting home strongly in good splits last time behind an impressive winner in Mbube. He's up and running and should be hard to hold out. PORTINARI (15) resumes having been pitched up in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude on debut, covering ground there out wide behind subsequent G1 winner Streisand. She's since spelled and has jumped out very well, keeping safe. LUCKY BROOK (11) is a filly by Lucky Vega on debut for the Eurell yard who has won a number of jumpouts leading in and looks ready to go. RUBARE (4) won here two back and will roll forward from out wide, she should stick on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stakes & Portinari appeal at the early prices. |

Takeko should find the front with Biancelli and Dreamzel on her heels. Siding with the resuming TAKEKO (4) for the Begg yard. She's a sparingly raced 5yo mare who was last seen bolting in with a BM74 at Moonee Valley. Clearly she's had a few problems but she profiles very well for this given her upside against a few that have more than hit their mark. LUNA CAT (9) is one of those, 6 from 46 over her career but racing very well of late. She's just found one better her past couple and gets in nicely with 53kg after the claim. VAIN CHAMPAGNE (10) resumes. She's a lightly raced mare who has never missed the placings this trip, expect she's hard to hold out. NEXT STEP IOWA (12) has won both starts this time in with varying tactics. She's a promising sort who gets in very light and can measure up, albeit sub $3 looks skinny enough in early betting. BIANCELLI (5) is consistent. She was okay fresh in Adelaide and should be thereabouts again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Takeko to win. |

The Big Screen Company Handicap 1200m
Written Glow to take charge ahead of Rosangela at a solid tempo. Tricky race. CUSTOM (1) resumes. She's been highly competitive against some good fillies and does pay the penalty at the weights for doing so, but second to Alpha Sophie last time in reads very well and she has a host of other ratings that say she can win, weight and all. MISS LOLA (9) broke through for a dominant maiden win at Sandown Lakeside second up and did so in good time. She can go on with it down in the weights. WRITTEN GLOW (7) is an interesting runner. She was sent out a $2.10 favourite on debut in New Zealand and won well, now with the Hayes yard. Beat very little there but represents strong connections and has trialled well, respecting. RACE FOR RULE (5) dropped back to this trip at Sandown Hillside and just missed late, she'll be hard to hold out. BIOLOGICS (3) struggled badly on the heavy going last time but can bounce back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Custom each-way. |

Sportsbet Caulfield Cup Carnival Hospitality Handicap 2000m
Moderate pace from Gregolimo taking it up with Amleto and Durban Harbour on his back. Giving SKIPPERS CANYON (5) another chance. He'd been racing so well all preparation until last start when struggling over 2400m at Sandown Hillside. They went very slowly there and he didn't have the turn of foot. Back to 2000m might suit a bit better and his form prior reads very well for this. If he doesn't show up, it's a bit of a raffle. FOIRE DE TRONE (15) has won 2/3 this time in, coming home too strongly off a slow speed at Sandown Lakeside to score narrowly when last seen. She gets in very light for Jabez Johnstone whose claim is a goldmine at the moment. SAVOUR THE DREAM (2) won dominantly over this trip at Mornington last time out and a repeat of that sees him hard to beat again. PROMISED LAND (12) steps up in trip fourth up which should suit. He's come back well and looks set to peak now. PERFECT PLAY (3) has been going well in Sydney and looks nicely placed from a good gate up on speed. SUGGESTED PLAY: Skippers Canyon to win. |

Sportsbet Fixed Odds Exotics Handicap 2000m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Gilded Water leading the way. GILDED WATER (4) is the big unknown. He pulled up with genuine issues after dropping right out on resumption over 1800m and has been given a bit of time to get over that. His best form in the Spring stands out for this, if he can settle and race genuinely he'll go close. BANKERS CHOICE (1) broke through for another win at Sandown Hillside last time out, beating SMOKIN' ROMANS (2) by a short margin. Bankers Choice is back up in the weights a touch but should go close again, Smokin' Romans was a big price there but was only second up and is suited up in trip. STAR OF INDIA (5) ran very well on ground typically too wet for him at Flemington last time. His best is good enough but he's hard to catch. NELLIE LEYLAX (6) has been okay in better races his past couple, he can kick up and take catching. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gilded Water on top. |

MRC Membership Made Of Moments Handicap 1000m
Strong tempo with Set Me Loose, Gunz and Farcited leading the charge. Open race and the resuming FARCITED (4) is the interesting runner. He's off a very long spell having not been seen since the Golden Slipper last year. He'd looked good winning the Black Opal Preview on debut and is now with the Freedman yard. He's won a jumpout leading in, the late betting will be key. FLY BY LIGHT (11) resumes. He won dominantly when well backed on debut at Cranbourne, struggling next time out again when favourite. He gets in light after the claim and expect him to measure up at odds. SET ME LOOSE (13) is a progressive filly who won dominantly first up at Seymour, having done similarly before a spell. She's got the run under the belt and will take plenty of catching. STAR TRIP (14) looked good in two runs last time in, beating Gold Coast Belle on debut as favourite before a close up effort at Mornington. He can be charging late. MAD ABOUT MAGNUS (15) has won two on the bounce and can figure again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Farcited & Fly By Light. |

Sportsbet Feed Handicap 1700m
Strong pace as Nation's Call pushes forward along with Black Storm from an outside gate. Sticking with MADIYYA (15) who went agonisingly close at Flemington last time out, just left with a nose (if that) left to do off a slow speed, diving on the line and just missing the photo. She's building to a win and Mott should have her sweeping into this late. MR BLUNT (14) was a dominant winner two back at Flemington, struggling as a short priced favourite there last time in a bit of a strange race. He can bounce back although a soft track is unknown. FIRST CHORUS (7) is also a bit of a tricky one. She was scratched a couple of times with a foot issue having won very well here two back. She was okay back in trip last week and now backs up quickly to 1700m which should suit better, although the draw hurts. NATION'S CALL (5) beat Madiyya last time and has to have some claims up on speed again. THINK GIANT (3) is an import who was last seen in a German Group 1, market best guide off a solid trial win. SUGGESTED PLAY: Madiyya to win. |

Quayclean Handicap 1400m
El Rocko should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. Looks a nice race for FANCIFY (10) third up. Two runs with the Maher yard have both been good, battling on down the straight fresh in a high rating race before racing back and wide in the Golden Topaz and finishing strongly for second. She's typically best when up and rolling on speed and now to 1400m they may look to press the button from out wide. BIG SWINGER (7) brings strong form, beating King Zephyr two back before a closing third on a tough track at Sandown last time. He's well weighted here and looks to get a nice run. HE'LL RIP (17) is building nicely having closed off well for second to ROADCONE (16) last time out at Flemington. Roadcone actually meets He'll Rip better at the weights for beating him, just wonder if he wants a mile now but both have claims. COEUR VOLANTE (2) won well last time and is up to this but does have to give away a bit of weight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fancify on top. |

Sportsbet More Places Handicap 1100m
Slick tempo with Naval Academy to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. Happy to side with WINNASEDGE (4) in the last. He's been right there in two runs back, stepping up to this trip last week at Flemington and boxing on gamely for third in a stronger race. Would've preferred 1200m but he loves Caulfield and should get a soft run behind a strong pace. BAZABALL REWARDED (5) is a ripper. She tried hard to 1100m in the Bel Esprit Stakes here two back on a tough track, then sat off the speed back to 1000m last time and ripped home to add another string to her bow. 1100m is the worry here but how she won last start suggests it might not be an issue. SALSA FELLOW (8) was well backed in the Golden Topaz at Swan Hill last time and ran on well having won two in a row prior. He'll get back but the track pattern will be key. LANDMARK (14) is going well without winning, up to 1100m looks okay and he can be figuring. NAVAL ACADEMY (11) can be forgiven for the fresh run on a tough track, he's better than that and should be included in multiples. SUGGESTED PLAY: Winnasedge to win. |
