MY BONNY BOY (2) finished second, beaten 1.75 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1000m at Kenilworth after he was prominent at the bend. In the right race and is sure to prove hard to beat. LANDMAN (4) is on debut for the Justin Snaith stable. Two-year-old colt by The United States from Fantastic Trip. Leading prospect on face value, with betting holding the key. TEQUILA TANGO (3) is a two-year-old colt on debut from the stable of Vaughan Marshall. By Real Gone Kid from Shield Of Light. Bold showing expected. LANA'S GAL (5) debuted four weeks ago when she finished ninth over 1000m at Kenilworth, beaten 10 lengths. Expected to be right there at the business end.
2 01:20 LUCKY FISH HOT HOT FRUIT D STAKES 1000m
GALACTUS (7) did his best work late and finished 2 lengths from the winner in fourth last start over 1000m at Kenilworth, an improvement on his eighth at Kenilworth the run before. Likely improver with strong prospects. HERITAGE RIDGE (8) is close to breaking through after three consecutive placings, the latest coming when third over 1200m at Kenilworth. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. BARNEY MCGREW (4) finished second last time over 1000m at Kenilworth when resuming from a spell, beaten a long neck. In the right race and is one of the big hopes. MAJOR APOLLO (6) has not won for a long while. Last raced on May 31 when beaten 2 lengths into fifth at Kenilworth over 1000m after being prominent until the final stages. Suitably placed so anticipating a bold performance.
3 01:55 CENTENARY SYNDICATE CLASS 4 1250m
CORK BAY (2) saluted at the first run back from a spell last start over 1200m at Kenilworth, scoring by 1.75 lengths. Has been given a let-up of eight weeks since that outing. Open to plenty of improvement and looms as the one to beat again. KELP FOREST (5) did a good job last start to finish second at Kenilworth over 1200m, beaten one length. Craig Zackey stays aboard and although yet to win has been in the money on three occasions. Best form puts him right in this. LYRICAL GANGSTER (3) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start when he did his best work late but found one better over 1000m at Kenilworth, beaten only 0.8 lengths. Nicely placed to find winning ways. VOLEGOV (1) finished 3.5 lengths from the winner in fifth last time out over 1000m at Kenilworth on May 19. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. Should give backers a sight.
4 02:30 EXPERT EYE STANDING AT PAARDEBERG STUD CLASS 4 1250m
GIRL LIKE US (6) doesn't win very often but ran a nice race last time out over 1200m at Kenilworth, finishing second and beaten a head. Long overdue and expected to go close. ALL IS GREEN (7) performed above expectations last time over 1200m at Kenilworth, finishing 0.7 lengths from the winner in third after starting at huge odds. Can frank that form here. LADY LOOK ALIKE (8) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1200m at Kenilworth, beaten 2.25 lengths into fourth after being in the firing line on the bend. Has a good record at this course and distance, including three wins. Nicely placed to take this out. RAFFISH TREND (9) bounced back last start and landed the prize by half a length over 1500m at Kenilworth. Finds a suitable race and can feature prominently.
5 03:05 LUCKY FISH MYSTIC FORTUNE CLASS 5 1400m
FORT YUKON (2) finished fourth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1400m at Kenilworth, beaten 3.5 lengths. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. NOON DAY GUN (5) was safely held when fifth last time out over 1400m at Kenilworth, beaten 4 lengths. That followed a win at Kenilworth at the previous outing. Likely improver with strong prospects. SUPER VIKING (6) produced a reasonable effort after being in contention on the bend to finish a nose away in second last start over 1600m at Kenilworth. That followed a first-up win at Kenilworth. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. THOMAS JENKINS (1) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his last appearance at this track over 1400m on March 21. Now under the care of new trainer A B Fortune. Among the better hopes.
6 03:45 IRRIDESCENCE STAKES 1500m
ENTICEMENT (8) didn't do a bad job when second last start after being in contention on the corner over 1200m at Kenilworth, beaten a neck. That followed a win at Kenilworth the start prior. Needs to be at her best to beat this field but she cannot be underestimated. GRAPES OF WRATH (1) wasn't far away first up last start when fourth over 1200m in stakes class at Kenilworth. May appreciate the longer journey with that run under the belt. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Best form puts her right in this. FOG IN FINLAND (5) was far from disgraced when fifth last start over 1200m at Kenilworth, beaten 2.75 lengths. That followed a win at Kenilworth the start prior. Going up a level this time but she cannot be underestimated. CHINWAG (3) was prominent at the corner and finished third last start over 1400m at Kenilworth, beaten 2.5 lengths. This looks a sterner test than last time but on her best form she is capable of a big performance.
7 04:20 LANGERMAN 1500m
KALAHARI KING (6) was well fancied last start over 1100m in Group 3 class at Kenilworth when fourth, beaten 4 lengths. Extra trip looks a plus and expected to measure up. AQUAE CALIDAE (3) recorded a strong maiden win over 1200m at Kenilworth last time, getting there by 5 lengths. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Shaping up nicely and he cannot be discounted. CATWALK KING (2) returned from a spell last start with a strong win by one length over 1200m at Listed level at Kenilworth. Was a winner at the only previous second-up run and this looks well within his grasp. FROM THE ISLAND (9) was in great form at the end of the last campaign with back-to-back wins, the latest over 1400m at Kenilworth ten weeks ago. Likely to push forward and race on the pace. Not to be discounted.
8 04:55 Hollywoodbets BRIGHT FUTURE CLASS 5 1600m
PEACHES AND CREAM (3) finished fourth last time out over 1500m at Kenilworth, beaten 3.5 lengths. Won maiden here three back and expected to go close. PLAYFUL JOULES (11) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1500m at Kenilworth, beaten 6 lengths into sixth. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. SPECIAL GLAMOUR (5) has been in the placings at her last two, most recently when third over 1800m at Kenilworth at her third run back from a break. Rock-hard fit now so a top-three finish is on the radar. PRINCESS OF BAYEUX (9) last appeared seven weeks ago over 1600m at Fairview All Weather when she finished sixth. This is her first run for the Robert Barrett stable. Worth plenty of thought.
