NUM TIME COMMENT
1 10:05 Maiden Race 1600m
ERIKA BIARRITZ (12) raced twice in her maiden campaign and started favourite on each occasion without winning, the latest effort a second over 1500m at Sapporo on August 30. Has a wide gate to overcome but is high among the list of chances in an ordinary affair. BUTTER CHOCOLAT (6) stepped out for her debut over 1600m at this track back on February 15 and finished fourth, beaten 4 lengths. Capable of sharp improvement this time in work. UNCHAIN (5) finished second last time over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 1.5 lengths. Ready to go one better in a race where most aren't performing this well. RIKEA MACARONI (13) finished 9 lengths away in fifth at her last appearance over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt on March 29. Finds a suitable assignment this time and can improve.
2 10:35 Maiden Race 1400m
COCO LASSI (13) is yet to break through in seven runs but has been thereabouts. Placed two back then was 5 lengths away in fifth over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt last time. Best figures stack up and looks well placed to get off the mark. HASTY HEART (5) has been in the money at both runs this time in, the latest effort a third over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Should appreciate the extra ground. Among the major players. CAFE SHOOTER (4) is a three-year-old colt facing the starter for the first time. From a family of winners, being by New Year's Day from Cafe Himiko. Importantly has a nice gate and looks certain to be competitive. MASTER STONE (9) finished 7 lengths away in fifth at his last appearance over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt on April 5. Appeals as a top-four contender.
3 11:05 Maiden Race 2100m
MODERATE GALE (11) is a five-start maiden who returned last time and finished sixth at Nakayama over 2200m, beaten 8 lengths. Plenty of scope for improvement and is a great chance to break through in a shallow race. I AM GIAN (6) started at big odds on debut last start but ran a bold race, finishing second and beaten 5 lengths over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Has upside and can open his account without surprising. ARTICULATE (12) was out of the money on debut two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten a long way into fourth. Hard to beat in this ordinary race. COSMO RUM BUCK (4) finished a distant fifth at his most recent outing over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Among the better chances in this company.
4 11:35 Maiden Race 1800m
A race light on genuine chances. SHINYANGA (12) has not been sighted since she finished second over 1800m at this track on February 14. Has only been to the races twice and has run two fine seconds. This looks an ideal assignment to go one better. PEACEFUL MIND (13) returned last time with a solid second at Nakayama over 1800m. Has the race fitness edge and is capable of an upset. ROUGE LA BELLE (15) is a three-year-old filly on debut from the stable of Y Shikato. By Epiphaneia from Red Belle Deesse. Respect any positive move in betting. CANTINA (1) could only manage to finish eighth, beaten 14 lengths, at her latest appearance over 1800m at Nakayama. Not much depth to this so a top four finish is achievable.
5 12:25 Maiden Race 1400m
GRAN MAESTRO (6) resumes from a spell of nine weeks. Raced just once when last in work and finished third over 1600m at this track. Placed at three of four runs, all at this circuit, and the maiden win looks imminent. DANON KELLY (11) finished third on debut three-and-a-half months ago, beaten 2.25 lengths over 1600m at Nakayama, and has not been produced since. Likely improver this prep and should feature in the finish. LILAS (3) is back from a spell of three-and-a-half months. Closed last prep with a sixth, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 1600m at Nakayama. Among the main hopes. ROUGE ASTREA (5) closed the last campaign nine weeks ago when she finished fourth over 1600m at this track. Can give this a shake.
6 12:55 Allowance Race 1600m
ZAAFIR (8) is a progressive three-year-old colt who hasn't raced since finishing second over 1600m at this track on February 15 which was the only run of that prep. Goes well when fresh including a win and two minor placings. Rates highly and expected to go well. B B CLOSER (10) resumed over 1400m last time out and turned in a solid effort to finish second at Hanshin Dirt after he gave away a big start. Won't be bothered by this longer journey. Serious threat. VOCALIZE (3) did his best work late to get up for fourth when resuming from a spell last start over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt, beaten 4.5 lengths. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. STELLA DE LUX (5) was safely held when 12th last start over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 10 lengths after a good win on debut at this track. Can make amends.
7 01:25 Allowance Race 1400m
CLARINET SONATA (16) is fresh from a spell of nine weeks and did hit the frame when last resuming at this track over 1600m. In a different yard now. Shapes up favourably and a bold showing is expected. CAT TAIL (7) went forward from the low draw when resuming last start and sat on the pace before sticking on well to finish third over 1700m at Fukushima Dirt. Likely improver with bright prospects. CAPE WICKHAM (10) finds it hard to win with just one success from 17 starts. Did a good job last start to finish third over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 5.5 lengths. Likely to be about the money again. MISA BISCUITS (12) turned in a better run last start, beaten 4 lengths into fifth over 1400m at Hanshin Dirt. Finds a nice race and can feature in the finish.
8 01:55 Allowance Race 1600m
ASSEMBLY ROOM (1) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his only appearance last prep at Nakayama over 1600m on January 24. Likes to drift back and wind up late so the small field suits. Will be tough to stop. TROPICAL TEA (4) returns from a spell. Finished third at this track and distance at her only appearance last prep ten weeks ago. Is a winner at this circuit. Leading contender. NAKHLITE (8) was in the firing line on the bend and finished second last start at the first run back from a spell over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten half a length. Likely improver with solid claims. SONIC LINE (7) returns from a spell. Finished fourth at this track and distance at his only appearance last prep ten weeks ago. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Realistic claims on best form.
9 02:25 ISAWA TOKUBETSU 1800m
Not a lot between the top four selections. DANON MISSION (6) has been about the money at each run this prep, the latest offering a second over 1600m at Nakayama. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Looks a great chance to collect a well-deserved win. BE ON THE COVER (7) comes here off a last-start fifth, beaten just 1.4 lengths, over 1800m at Nakayama. Recent ratings say he is in the thick end of the chances. REBELS RULE (4) has been kept fresh since he resumed last start and proved too strong, scoring by a neck over 1800m at Hanshin. Will be better for that latest run and this looks well within his grasp. NOBILISSIMA VISION (9) took advantage of the good draw and landed on the pace when resuming from a spell last start before battling on for fourth, beaten 1.1 lengths, over 2000m at Nakayama. Can feature in the finish.
10 03:00 KAMAKURA STAKES 1400m
MEISHO HACHIRO (4) returns from a spell. Finished second at this track and distance at his only appearance last prep ten weeks ago. Has a formidable record at this journey with two wins and two placings from five starts. Looks certain to be in the finish. BENNU (5) returns from a spell of ten weeks. Was safely held at the only appearance last prep when 11th over 1400m at this track. Drawn to enjoy a nice trail just off the pace. Best form puts him right in this. PEISHA CAPE (15) is back after a break of nine weeks. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 1300m at this track. Makes plenty of appeal. WANDERER (14) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 1.75 lengths from the winner in second over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Has his share of talent and is a top-three prospect.
11 03:45 THE TV TOKYO HAI AOBA SHO 2400m
BLACK OLYMPIA (4) is a free-rolling colt who returned from a break with a win over 2400m at Hanshin. Takes on tougher opposition this time but he is full of promise and expected to run well. NOBLE SAVAGE (15) returned from a 14-week spell and made it two wins from as many starts when successful over 2200m at Nakayama. Big step up today but he won't be out of place in this company. TIDAL LOCK (7) finished 2 lengths away in fourth last time out in the Grade 2 Deep Impact over 2000m at Nakayama seven weeks ago. Tackles a longer journey this time. Proven at this level unlike some key rivals so must be respected. GOING TO SKY (16) has not raced since finishing just behind the placegetters in the Grade 3 Kisaragi Sho over 1800m at Kyoto on 10 February. New to this trip but he does find the line well so it should suit.
12 04:30 Allowance Race 1600m
CAUCASUS GOLD (13) is close to breaking through, last start finishing just half a length away in second over 1900m at Chukyo Dirt after being prominent from the outset. Should settle just off the speed despite the draw. Has the talent to take care of this field. D'S GOLD (3) showed early speed from an outside draw and held a forward position before fading to finish fourth, beaten 3.5 lengths, last start over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Will be handy in the run again and should prove hard to run down. KYOEI FREUDE (4) resumes in a similar race to her last run ten weeks ago when second, beaten just 0.8 lengths. Among the better hopes. HOKIBOSHI (2) is having his first run since January 25 2025. Goes well when fresh with a win and two placings from four starts. Worth plenty of thought despite the long lay-off.
