NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:45 HMAS SYDNEY HANDICAP 1100m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. SHALASH (8) justified the good support on debut when she rounded them up with ease to draw clear over 1000m at Gosford. Comes to town at the right time with Fitzgerald's 3kg claim. Solid top-three contender. EXTREMELY TEMPTED (1) sent straight to the front and never headed on debut with a slick victory over 1100m at Hawkesbury. Appears to have further upside and looks up to this tougher assignment from the sticky draw. Go close. LADY CATALINA (7) returns from a short break after proving too sharp for them on debut over 900m at Newcastle. Since kept up to the mark with a 900m trial placing. Can slide across from the wide gate and hold a forward position. Each-way. BANGKOK HOTTIE (2) dropped in grade from the better gate with an effortless Maiden win over 1200m at Warwick Farm. Can stalk the fast speed and expected to be in the finish. I AM DIRTY (12) I Am Invincible filly from Dirty Thoughts on debut for the Baker yard. All three trials have been sound and worth thought.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Shalash each-way.
2 01:20 THE LAST POST HANDICAP 1400m
Solid pace with Seastraand finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. ENAMORADA (3) returns from a 35-day let-up with a good winning record. Comes up from Victoria after she launched late from back in the field with a game second over 1400m at Caulfield in BM84 class. Kept up to the mark with a 900m trial at Canterbury. Expected to go close in this weaker contest. DEEP PLEASURE (5) returned from a lengthy break with a gritty on-pace second over 1300m at Warwick Farm. Jumps into the box seat and gets her chance at the good each-way odds. NIGHT AGENT (7) good style of gelding chasing his fourth win at start five this prep. Handled the rise in trip and grade with ease when saluting over 1500m at Hawkesbury. Tougher test today and can overcome the sticky barrier. SIRAGUSA (12) won well first-up in easier grade, then lost the rider over this track and trip in the LR S/Pacific. Since fitted with an 801m trial placing at Warwick Farm. No shock to see him run a big race. MOJAVE RIVER (6) imported mare making her Australian debut. Can surprise with the claim.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 3,5,7,12.
3 01:55 THE THIRD AUSTRALIAN GENERAL HOSPITAL HANDICAP 1200m
Expecting Spice Baby to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. WOOTTON LASS (11) fifth-up for this and gets her chance to tick off the 1200m box. Snagged back from the wide gate and chipped away late with a respectable eighth in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes over 1200m at this track. Maps well and is going better than her price suggests. CANTIAMO (6) above average filly who gripped on strongly second-up with a handy sixth over 1200m in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes at this track. Tongue-tie goes on and comes here in peak condition. Leading contender. JELLICIOUS (2) knocked up late with a tough on-pace second over 1100m at Rosehill. Comes to hand quickly and assess on her narrow second to Weeping Woman last November. ERNAUX (12) well placed with the claim after being trapped off the track with a poor last over this track and trip in the G3 P J Bell. Kept up to the mark with a 900m trial win. Don't dismiss. MADRINA (8) improving mare who returned good figures first-up. Stays in the mix. The chances don't end there.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 11,6,2,12.

Well-placed again with Grima's claim and can make it two-straight from the sticky gate. POLYMNIA (7) frustrating mare unlucky not to have a few more wins on the CV. Loomed strongly but to match for Machine Gun Gracie when second over 1900m at Rosehill in the G3 Epona. No excuses today. THRICE (11) Irish import making his Australian debut. Had genuine excuses when fifteenth over 1600m in the G1 Doncaster Mile at this track last time out. Well placed here and sure to figure prominently. DEPTH OF CHARACTER (3) Classy Group 2 winner resuming. Raced without luck time in and expecting big things this prep. Given the two trials and stays in the mix with the claim. ENCAP (6) no Autumn Glow or Sheza Alibi today. Deep into the prep and must be kept safe. HELLSING (10) is due for a change of luck. Outclassed when a fading eleventh in the G1 Doncaster over 1600m here last start. Earlier runs had merit and keep safe from the low gate.
