THE CLUB BEAUDESERT CLASSIC Colts, Geldings & Entires RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1200m
Strong tempo headed by Rockrata pressing on with Bee Exact and Exostova showing speed. Tricky. EXOSTOVA (9) led and was an easy winner here on debut. Outgraded at Doomben after and was tipped out. Has trialled here twice in preparation for this and will be naturally improved. CHAYSE 'N' LEISA (4) resumes at home and has switched from the Les Kelly yard. Might find this a touch short but has the ability and may be more forward this time around. ZOODOO (12) has been racing well without winning. Placed at Kilcoy last time and was only beaten 2.2L at the Sunshine Coast prior. Races forward and deserves another chance. COINCIDE (7) will be fitter and is suited for the longer sprint. His effort at Ipswich first up was good. LITTLE VISTA (1) disappointed at the Sunshine Coast last time but was an easy winner there this grade first-up. Has placed this course/distance and a better effort is likely. SUGGESTED PLAY: With Exostova. |

CLUB BEAUDESERT PUNT & PINT Class 1 Plate 2450m
Moderate tempo with Metcalfe leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. METCALFE (2) just missed a place at the Sunshine Coast and then was just beaten over 1900m at Kilcoy. Well-seasoned for the step-up to a staying trip, and a senior hoop replaces the apprentice. LITTLE LUNCH (7) was in the market in Maiden company over 2170m at Ipswich, off a distant placing on the Gold Coast poly. Sits down in the weights and shapes as if the longer journey will suit. PREFER TO DANCE (3) found a place over 2180 at Ipswich in stronger and will be better for it. Has Lloyd aboard and can make a better fist of this trip since his try at it here in September. ALASKA DE LUNE (6) would be in the finish at best and is also a hope in a weak race. LINAS REEL (1) has a 2kg claim and the tongue tie on for the first time and has scope for improvement. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Metcalfe. |

LACHLAN HUGHES FAMILY Maiden Handicap 1650m
Not much gate speed on show enabling Zayyano to roll to the front. ZAYYANO (4) is a former Victorian who resumed in stronger at the Gold Coast and needed the outing. His provincial form reads well and he will enjoy the step up to 1650m. Has a handy 2kg claim and the blinkers on again. FIVE OF US (9) has been racing in better Maidens and comes back to this trip off a middle-distance placing at Ipswich. Has trialled solidly at the Gold Coast since and is well placed to feature. BLOOD RED (7) ran a better race when he worked home well and finished 3.5 lengths away over 1690m at Ipswich. He'll be in the finish holding that form. SONIC FLYER (5) will be fitter and will find this more suitable than Eagle Farm and Ipswich. The 1650m is sure to suit. THE MESSIAH (6) will be around the mark off a Grafton 1400m placing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Zayyano appeals most. |

THE OLIVER & BETTY PLUNKETT MEMORIALS Class 4 Handicap 1400m
A solid tempo is on the cards with Lone Force and Savaii pushing for the lead ahead of Treasurer and Toroness. SAVAII (2) is in a smart stable and brings a long-head defeat from the Gold Coast in a 65, this trip. Has gone well at Goulburn NSW prior and will use the inside gate. He can go on with it. LONE FORCE (4) spiked his figures, winning easily this trip at Gatton at 70 level. He placed his only try this course/distance and looks to have turned the corner. Has Lloyd aboard and should get every chance to repeat. SMART ACTION (1) won a CL1 at Doomben over 1650m with a bit in hand and then was outgraded there in a 70. Drops back to 1400m off a brief freshen with a handy 3kg claim and maps to advantage. TORONESS (5) got too far back at Ipswich for the new yard but had been going well at Toowoomba prior. Won her only 1400m start and her best would have her in the mix. MERCHANT LADY (6) won over 1500m at Kilcoy and tumbles in weight this grade with a 4kg claim atop. Can't be ruled out. SUGGESTED PLAY: With Savaii. |

HUGHESY'S LEGACY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1400m
They should run this along with Los Alamitos and Daiquiri Hill taking it up over Leica Lemon. MARITIMO (4) trialled well here and resumed at Doomben, and it wasn't a bad effort. Missed a whisker three stats back at Ipswich on debut, so has the ability. Draws an inside gate, and with the extra fitness, this is winnable on his home track. LOS ALAMITOS (3) missed a whisker three back at Eagle Farm this distance but has been plainer in similar races the two since. Likely had excuses last time. A winning chance in easier company. BOSS LOGIC (1) debuts with a 4kg claim and owns an easy 1200m Deagon trial win. Has the blinkers on and this is a suitable kicking off point. Keep a close eye on the betting. Ditto with LEICA LEMON (5) who resumes with a 2kg claim and a handy gate and will be naturally improved. MILDURA LAD (11) resumed better just missing over a shorter sprint at Ballina. Has the outside gate to manage but won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Maritimo to win. |

LACHLAN HUGHES MEMORIAL Fillies & Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1200m
Divas Reign, Private Showtime and Charlotte's Here can set a genuine tempo. ESPRIT DU JOUR (1) is in the premier metro stable and is busting to win. Has missed a nose at both Eagle Farm and Toowoomba her last two and can take this out with average luck in the run. LAMBERTINA (3) resumes and creates plenty of interest. Has switched from a Sydney barn and has done enough to say this is winnable. Has had a soft trial and just missed at Gosford at her only fresh. She draws well, and Lloyd is booked. The betting will be key. PRIVATE SHOWTIME (11) peaks and has been below her best in better Maidens. Finally has an inside gate which she can use. Has a handy 2kg claim and consider. GERRY'S PICK (6) is a local on resumption and has trialled well at the track. Has a low gate and enough ability to feature if presented forward this time around. SO BE INSPIRED (4) made good improvement, winning a 50 at Ballina over shorter and tumbles in weight this grade with the 4kg claim atop. That should have her in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Esprit Du Jour to win. |

DIGGERS CUP BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1650m
Genuine tempo from Notabadjackup leading Archers Reign. SUPRENDRE (5) was quickly back to form beaten 2L over 1400m at Gatton in a 70. That stacks right up and the 1650m suits. She's going to be hard to beat. The veteran THE CATCH (1) finished alongside the above in that contest off a solid effort at Eagle Farm. Has won 4x over this distance and he also gets his chance in this contest. FLYING BAT (2) placed in better grade at Ballina first-up and has a handy 2kg claim. Good enough to keep well onside. NOTABADJACKUP (4) resumes and led and won a 1540m Maiden on the Gold Coast poly by almost 7L on debut. Draws wide, but the market has to be monitored closely with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Suprendre. |

BEAUDESERT HIBERNIAN RACEDAY 23 MAY Class 2 Plate 1650m
Tennessee Whiskey to take charge ahead of Maragical at a strong tempo. Gollan-trained MARAGICAL (9) rates well and has an inside alley. Has been within range three times at Doomben before leading and folding late at the Gold Coast. First try over this trip, and with a quieter ride will be hard to beat. BOLE LE (1) is racing well. Scored at Moree two back before a 1L defeat over 1600m at Gatton in a 62. Maps well and can bounce back to winning form. LOCH AWE (6) peaks off solid runs in provincial company. Raced a $3.5F at the Gold Coast last time but didn't let down as expected. Switches back in trip with the blinkers on for the first time and deserves plenty of consideration. KEEP IT LOKI (2) will be sharper third-up, and the 4kg claim brings him into it. SUGGESTED PLAY: Maragical to win. |
