NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:05 CENTRAL COAST GRANITE SUPER MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Power Hungry has the pace to lead in what is likely to be a moderate tempo. ARTEMEX (8) has not appeared since starting at $3.70 in the Group 3 Golden Gift in November. Settled midfield in that $1 million feature but disappointed in the run home. Trialling well for Ciaron Maher and can make amends in this far easier assignment. RUSSIAN REIGN (3) also returns after just one run in the maiden prep, an inglorious fifth of six over this trip at Hawkesbury 20 weeks ago. Was very green on that occasion so expect a bit more this time with the race experience on board. MONOCRU (4) is back after a five-month break. Hit the line well to finish a close second over this distance at Kembla at the only run when last in work. Recent trial winner who should be in for a strong campaign. WAVETON (7) was good on debut two back at Hawkesbury then hung badly and was eased up most recently at Wyong. Can do a lot better if the manners improve. STELLAA LASS (6) might need more ground now but the effort on debut over this distance was encouraging.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Artemex to win first-up.
2 01:40 PROPERTY VALUATIONS NSW PROVINCIAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
Plenty of pace likely from Charlina, Bondasong and Whispering Rupert battling for the lead from Barsandbi. DINGLE GREY (3) settled just off the speed then although a bit wayward cleared right away from a maiden field when resuming over this distance at Wyong last start. Lightly raced filly who has the scope to take this next step. BONDASONG (1) continues to race well deep into the maiden prep. Had little peace up front and only succumbed close to home over this trip at Wyong last time out. Might find this a shade easier and on a nine-day back-up makes plenty of appeal. CHARLINA (2) led and kicked right away only to be nailed on the line over 900m at Newcastle recently. Honest filly who will give backers a great sight again. WHISPERING RUPERT (5) is back from a brief spell. Might find this a bit sharp but with a gun run from gate one he can sneak into the frame. FARNCIFUL (6) is up on class but has been in the money at all three 1000m runs - must be respected.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Dingle Grey to win again.
3 02:15 NCIS SYDNEY 3YO MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
Genuine pace with Mimi's taking up the running ahead of Fernweh and Populism. FERNWEH (2) stalked the pace then let down nicely but found the winner a shade too strong when resuming over 1100m at this track last start. Joe Pride has him back in good shape and the extra 100m plays perfectly into his hands. MIMI'S (7) had her chance but was no match for a dominant winner over 1100m at Wyong last time out. Gets some nice weight relief today to take on the boys and she should be spot on now at the third run back from a spell. OBSIDIAN DREAM (8) battled on fairly but was never a threat first-up in the same race as Fernweh here recently. Sparingly raced filly who should improve as she gets out a little in distance. POPULISM (10) has not appeared since disappointing on debut over this journey at Wyong two months ago. Trialled well since and is capable of a lot more. PEACE BIRD (9) is in the mix second-up. Beaten a whisker over today's distance at Warwick Farm at the same stage last prep.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Fernweh.
4 02:50 THE COAST CLUB MAIDEN PLATE 1100m
Expecting Princess Dane to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. A lot has been asked of ARTANEOUS (9) in his three runs to date and stakes company has proved to be beyond him. Worked to share the lead then dropped right out last start in the Group 3 Kindergarten over this trip at Randwick. Can turn things around in this vastly easier assignment. LIBERTY CALLS (7) started at $3.40 but failed to run out a strong 1250m at Taree last time. Ran a decent race on debut over this distance at Hawkesbury so on that basis she deserves another chance. PRINCESS DANE (6) crossed to settle second but couldn't finish the race off on debut at Wyong recently. Should benefit from that run and might offer a bit more resistance this time. Stablemate DIAMOND DICE (11) turned in a similar performance when lining up for the first time, tiring late over today's journey at Hawkesbury. Can improve sharply without surprising. STELLAA LASS (8) closed well at the end of 1000m on debut at Wyong so this looks a suitable race.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Artaneous to win.
5 03:25 THE COAST RACEDAY 9 MAY BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1600m
Slick tempo with Cha Cha Cha to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. VARJAK (2) was beaten just half a length in a Class 1 over this course and distance two back. Stepped up to 2000m and was outclassed in the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes subsequently. Back to a more suitable race today so despite 60kgs he looks the one to beat. STELLAR RHONDA (8) started favourite and dug deep to get the prize in heavy going first-up over 1400m at Nowra. Big class rise today but she strips fitter and is lightly raced so there is plenty more to come. BONDI BLOSSOM (6) stalked the leader then went home a touch too well at her latest appearance over 1500m at Newcastle. Nicely drawn and Small's claim brings her in well again. I AM WILD (7) has been racing well this prep, with a month or more between runs the key. Last start winner over the mile here and another big run looks on the cards. MONKHANA (1) improved sharply second-up last time out in town. Key runner third-up and back at the provincials.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Varjak to win.
6 04:00 WIN $100K AT THE COAST RACEDAY BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1200m
Genuine pace with Revolutionary Star finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. REVOLUTIONARY STAR (5) settled just off the pace then showed great determination to get up by a long neck when resuming over 1100m at this track last start. In the right stable and has a stack of room to improve at just his third appearance. Ready for this tougher assignment. HELLOVA NATURE (6) went back then really motored late but just ran out of time over this course and distance last time out. Goes back again from a wide gate but with good speed up front he is one to watch for late in proceedings. COOL LAD (7) was shuffled back before flying late to miss by just half a length when resuming over 1100m at Mudgee recently. Meets some better types today but strips fitter and gets some welcomed weight relief. IN LIMBO (9) led but found one better at the end of 1300m at Wyong last start. Going well and should be in the firing line for a long way. HARLEX (1) disappointed at Wyong last time but has been freshened up and races well here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Revolutionary Star to take out the last.
