Lest We Forget Handicap 1200m
Empire Of Pain and Cork Harbour have the pace to take up the running at a solid tempo. REDDERS (6) was well below his best last time in a hot form race but did pull up with genuine excuses. His effort behind the smart Shadhavar two back lines up beautifully for this and his tick over trial suggests he’s right back on song. DOBBINAIR (1) sets up perfectly fourth up after savaging the line here in his past two. He’s ready to win. VANGOGH BANKCHEQUE (7) was disappointing last start when well supported at Sandown-Lakeside. There’s no doubt he has talent, but he risks getting too far back again if the race shape doesn’t help. REGAL SECRET (9) was a strong winner here two weeks ago over this trip, running solid time from the front. Expect her to roll forward again and give supporters a sight. HOOKED ON WEALTH (13) can be his own worst enemy but if they overdo it up front he’s the type who can burst through late. Don’t forget about him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Redders to bounce back. Saving on Dobbinair. |

Sportsbet Breeders' Stakes 1200m
Ole Go, Wonderful Sky and Verzain to match motors but there will be other pressure. CZECH OUT (3) was taken back from his wide draw in the key lead up, the LR Without Fear Stakes, and was left with a stack to do rounding the bend but picked up powerfully along the inside to grab a minor cheque. The rise to 1200m is perfect now and if he can settle closer he will be awfully hard to stop. VERZAIN (6) took out that lead up with a dogged effort up the inside to fend off the hotpot Ole Go. She should be even better third up, so there is no reason she can’t beat them again. OLE GO (1) was first up in the Without Fear when just missing. He will be better for that and draws much kinder this time. If he has come on, he can easily turn the tables. WONDERFUL SKY (7) made light work of her maiden at Pakenham and gets her chance to show her stuff in stronger company. HARRY MET SALLY (2) drops back to 1200m and brings valuable race experience. Not dismissing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Czech Out. |

PFD Food Services Chairman's Stakes 2000m
Flying Brant should lead and dictate terms. MCWOODY (2) has hit the ground running for the new stable and is right back to the form that earned him a start in the G1 Victoria Derby in the spring. He took out the key lead up and looks even better suited stepping to 2000m. WIGMORE (3) is a fascinating Kiwi import having his first run for the Stokes yard. He stayed on strongly for fourth in the G1 NZ Derby before heading across and now drops 400m off a 49 day freshen. Neindorf is a key booking and you can make a bold case for him. AUTUMN MYSTERY (1) won the G3 Caulfield Classic before a solid Victoria Derby run in the spring and has built steadily this prep. His last run in the G3 Easter Cup at Caulfield was better than it reads and he can run a big race. ENGINE OF WAR (5) came through the same spring features as Autumn Mystery and is another who is trending the right way. IMPULSIVE REACTION (8) also looks progressive, while MATAHGA (4) can improve sharply with the blinkers going on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mcwoody to win. |

Sportsbet Queen Of The South Stakes 1600m
Solid tempo with Mystic Wonder leading from Brown Nose Day Gal and Wild Imagination. BLINDEDBYTHELIGHT (3) was super first up in the G2 Emancipation Stakes at Rosehill behind subsequent G1 winner Idle Flyer and is sure to have come on from that. ON DISPLAY (2) was well below her best last start at Caulfield but her runs behind Treasurethe Moment and Scheelite prior read perfectly for this. Trusting the stable have her back on track and she will prove very hard to hold out. CILACAP (4) has built nicely this campaign and looks ready to put it all together now. Childs from a low draw is a big tick and she should be right there when they quicken. TERILEE (8) is impossible to knock, shooting for the hat trick after two soft wins. Have to consider. BRAVE MISS (13) was a flashing light first up at big odds and if they hum along early she will be steaming late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Blindedbythelight to win. |

Sportsbet John Hawkes Stakes (Formerly D C McKay Stakes) 1100m
Slick pace with Recommendation finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. NEW YORK LUSTRE (6) produced a career peak over this trip in G3 company at Flemington before the break and looks to have returned in terrific order judging by his sharp jump outs. Draws beautifully for B Allen and his fresh record is imposing, so expecting he runs a big race. NIANCE (4) is another noted fresh performer who has also jumped out strongly. Her peaks are stronger than NYL’s but the draw is a headache and tactics will be fascinating. WATCHME WIN (2) is the best of the locals but also cops a wide alley. He was strong fresh behind Super Smink in the G3 R N Irwin and has improvement to come, though Holder will need to be inch perfect. ENUFF SEDUCTION (22) rattled home under a big weight to grab second last start and now gets weight relief with the rise in grade. If they overdo it up front she can be the one flashing late. LOSESOMEWINMORE (11) is talented but will need luck from the draw and if he sees daylight at the right time he can make things interesting. SUGGESTED PLAY: New York Lustre to win. Keeping an eye on Enuff Seduction at long odds. |

Sportsbet Tobin Bronze Stakes 1200m
Lawborough has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. EXTRAGALACTIC (16) has been electric in her two runs back and now gets her chance in Group company. The draw is sticky but Zac Lloyd takes over and should be able to find the right lanes. Expect her to be bursting through late. INKARUNA (9) pulled up with excuses in the G3 P J Bell when sent out favourite, but her first two runs this prep line up beautifully for this, especially the lip-defeat to Beadman in the Fireball. Happy to forgive. TYCOON STAR (2) has been denied by the barest margin in both runs back and is surely due to get the bob. JMac going on only strengthens the case. LEGACY BOUND (1) was well below his best last time on testing ground after a dynamic fresh win. Freshened with a month between runs and has been kept sharp with a trial. Expecting a bounce-back. THANKS GORGEOUS (10) must be respected after taking care of some of these last start in the LR VRC Sprint Classic at Flemington. Draws well again and is right in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with exciting filly Extragalactic. |

Sportsbet Australasian Oaks 2000m
Strong tempo with Savitri, Freedom Flame and Paltrow Miss leading the way. GETTA GOOD FEELING (2) has been dynamic in her wins this prep and looks set to be even better stretching to 2000m. A jump-out keeps her ticking over and she’s the one they have to beat. MATING CALL (5) was given an absolute peach to take out the G3 Auraria Stakes last start and J Melham takes over here. From the middle draw she should blend into it at exactly the right time. SALTY PEARL (3) dominated over the mile at Flemington two back before a brave fourth in the G1 Vinery at Rosehill. She has to be taken seriously. PANOVA (4) was strong through the line two back in the G2 Phar Lap but was left with far too much to do in the Vinery. McDonald jumps aboard and despite the awkward gate you’d expect her to be closer when turning. STRICTLY BUSINESS (1), the G1 Oaks winner, is going better than the formguide suggests and cannot be forgotten. KAZARU (11) was strong late in the Auraria and gets Neindorf now. She’s a must for wider exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Getta Good Feeling has to go on top. Each-way saver Kazaru. |

Sportsbet Robert Sangster Stakes 1200m
Bossy Benita and Bridal Waltz possess good early speed and will set a genuine tempo. SKYBIRD (1) went enormous in the G1 T J Smith Stakes, beaten only a length by Joliestar and Giga Kick. If she reproduces anything close to that she’s a massive winning chance. GENEROSITY (3) took out the G2 Challenge Stakes fresh when rolling forward, then flashed late to just miss in the G1 Galaxy. The inside draw looks good on paper, but Macdonald will almost certainly be angling away from the fence to keep her in clean air. CHARM STONE (2) is a dual G1 winner returning to defend her crown. Was electric fresh in the spring when smashing them in the G1 Manikato. She resumed in the G1 William Reid this prep and stuck on bravely behind a red-hot Jigsaw. Her peaks are good enough to win this again. Maher has BENEDETTA (4) back somewhere near her best. She’s at peak fitness now and draws perfectly for Melham. Not dismissing. POINT BARROW (17) is still on the rise and will be looking to round them up late. MY GLADIOLA (16) has been too bad to be true in her past two. Can't forget. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Skybird. |

Thomas Farms Handicap 1600m
Pudding, Goldrush Guru and Big Brute can set a genuine tempo. MARACOURT (7) exploded first-up at Oakbank when missing by a head and looks perfectly placed rising to the mile. Gets the switch to J Melham and he can go one better. SCANDALIZE (10) is impossible to ignore after making it two on the bounce here last start. He’s clearly worked it all out now and only needs to hold that level to be right in the thick of it again. PUDDING (5) was a tough winner fresh before failing to fire in the City of Adelaide, but he can bounce back third-up. CHICAGO STORM (1) is as genuine as they come and has been solid without threatening in two runs back. He carries the big weight but that rarely bothers him. FINE FUTURE (8) held off the fast-finishing Maracourt at Oakbank and is open to further improvement, though the inside draw could get sticky. If the gaps appear, he’ll be bursting through late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Scandalize is sure to be right there again but leaning to Maracourt. |
