ANZAC DAY QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000m
Tricky one to map with a number of debutants but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. Tricky and the betting will be instructive. DOUBLE COOL (1) resumes and is promising. Comes off a 1.8L defeat in the Magic Millions 2yo Classic at Gold Coast. Looks up to the mark following a trial win at Deagon and missed a whisker here the only fresh outing. PRIVATE MAX (5) debuts for the sharp Matt Dunn yard with two trials under the saddle. Jumps from an inside gate with a 2kg claim and a bold run is on the cards. POWERFILLY (9) spiked her figures leading at Doomben narrowly beaten at big odds. Has to skip over from a wide gate today but the blinkers go on and she's likely to give a big sight. VINCLEY (6) led and just missed a place at the Gold Coast on debut and is sure to build on that. KAVA EXPRESS (10) is a Vandyke-trained debutant who draws low and is likely to be better than the trial finishes suggest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Double Cool sets a good standard. |

LEST WE FORGET Maiden Handicap 1200m
Expecting Fortysecondstreet to take up the running with Sound The Bugle and Lucci close at hand. SIKKA (8) was well educated before placing heavily bet at Gatton on debut. The well-bred filly has a wide gate to manage, but the 2kg claim is handy, and she's in the right barn. Will go close on what we've seen. LUCCI (7) trialled well before a half-length defeat here over 1000m first up. Finished well and the longer sprint suits with the extra fitness. TORO CHASE (2) was heavily bet narrowly beaten this trip at Doomben. The 2kg claim is handy but he'll need a good ride from the outside gate. SAVASTEEL (1) won a trial and went close in the Lucci race on debut. Will race forward and also has claims. VIDEO VIXEN (15) was expected to win at the Gold Coast and didn't finish it off. Has the rail and sits down in the weights. Deserves another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Sikka. |

VETERANS WELLBEING FOUNDATION QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1000m
Red Moon Rising is expected to lead at a strong tempo. ESTEE EMM (5) just missed at Eagle Farm on debut and has looked the goods in her two trials leading into this. Promising and with average luck in the run will take plenty of beating. GOSSAMER GLOW (6) debuts for the top stable and owns a Deagon trial win. Has a 2kg claim and despite the awkward gate is likely to feature. SWORD OF LEGACY (15) is right up to this but has the 15 barrier before scratchings. Found one better at Eagle Farm first up after a switch from the Waller yard, and early last year missed a nose in Melbourne at Group 3 level. Has a 2kg claim and can feature if things work out. DUCHESS DIFFICULT (4) debuts and just missed in a recent Dragon trial. The gate is sticky but she profiles well. RED MOON RISING (10) resumes off a placing here on debut when she led. Will have come on and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Estee Emm to win. |

CALOUNDRA RSL BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1000m
Solid tempo with Impact Zone to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. ARISPHERE (2) is in the premier stable and brings strong relative form to resumption. Has been racing in better company in town and is proven fresh. Owns a Doomben trial win and has the speed to use the rails gate. Has a handy 2kg claim, and a bold run is likely. IMPACT ZONE (7) led narrowly beaten this grade at Eagle Farm first-up. Is 2/2 second-up and has more up the sleeve. A serious player. HEARTS ARE BETTER (1) is a leader who won at Ipswich before finding one 2.9L too good Eagle Farm at this level. The 2kg claim is handy but she will need some luck skipping over from an awkward gate. COUNT NICHOLAS (4) comes back in grade and is busting to win. The 2kg claim helps and he deserves another chance. HEART AND SPIRIT (8) has been going okay but below her best. Maps well and is well in with the 3kg claim. She's well in the mix. FINANCIALLY FAMOUS (9) resumes and is worth a look. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Arisphere. |

MC POLYTRACK Class 1 Plate 1000m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Da Snoop Dog leading the way. HAPPY BELLIE (9) switched from a Sydney barn and turned in a strong run over 1200m at Eagle Farm last time, ridden back before placing third. Drops back in trip but has raced well in Sydney over 1100m and the claim is handy. Rates well and fitter will finish hard. DA SNOOP DOG (4) resumed at the Gold Close this trip and just missed from the pace. Two back he was nudged out in a 64 at Randwick second-up and that form reads well. LOVECATS (16) resumes for a sharp stable with a 2kg claim and an inside gate. Missed a nose in a 62 at Ipswich when last seen and has two trials under the belt. Has claims if presented forward. ICED CHOCOLATE (10) switched from a Victorian barn and did about what was expected first-up. Proven second-up and she's also in good hands. Needs a good ride but keep onside. ELRONTE (14) has been racing below best, but fourth-up may show more. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Happy Bellie. |

HIGGINS COATINGS QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200m
Genuine tempo with Cyber City leading the way. PINK VIXEN (4) scored at Toowoomba two back then finished third, beaten 1.75 lengths, over 1350m at Doomben in stronger than this. Maps well and is well-placed to bounce back. AVE CANTARE (11) wound up strongly at the end of 1110m at Doomben, beaten by half a length in a 68. She maps for a soft run and is busting to win. HUNTER'S MATE (1) has raced in tougher company since his all-the-way win over 1350m three back at Doomben. He can play a leading role at this level. LA BELLA BOOM (2) resumed off a very long break at Eagle Farm and needed the outing. Won her only second-up outing in an Open 2 at Doomben and that stacks right up. Need a good ride from the apprentice, but she's in the right barn and a much sharper effort is on the cards. RITUALIZE (3) has been finding it hard to win but is going well and will be around the mark with the weight relief. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pink Vixen to win. |

TAB BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1400m
Solid tempo expected primarily from Zingalong and Jotopeli. EXPRESS BARBIE (7) missed a nose at Ipswich then worked over from the 15 gate and led at the Gold Coast and was swamped just missing a place. There was a lot to like about that and she draws handier today. Well placed with the 2kg claim. STRANGLEHOLD (1) built on a nice third when fresh at the Gold Coast with a big win over 1400m at Gold Coast, getting home by 2.25 lengths. Needs a good ride but will be right in it if that occurs. ALIQUAM (15) led them up and belted the Maidens here by 5.2L on a heavy track. Should have the early speed to manage the awkward gate and she has upside. PIREONTI (4) mixes the form but will be better back to this trip, and her best efforts would see her in the mix. ALL KINDS OF FOLK (2) has switched from a Victorian yard and has won fresh. Will race over further but has ability and is a betting watch. SUGGESTED PLAY: Express Barbie appeals most. |
