A good tempo likely from the youngsters. BOOMED (1) was slow off and just beaten before the spell and has been gelded. He resumes in easier grade and is sure to have come on for the form yard. FOX WARRIOR (3) debuts and profiles well. The barn is getting plenty of winners and the market will tell. RUSTIC ROCKER (4) debuts with the blinkers applied and also interests and does SHE'S ATOP PORSCHE (5) filling out the four horse field. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boomed has a future and has the race experience. |

Expecting Institution to take up the running with Sylvester and French Fizz close at hand. SYLVESTER (3) was just beaten resuming at Townsville and was straight back to business. He can build on that and gets in light with the 3kg claim. INSTITUTION (5) is fast and is an improver seeking the hat-trick. Tougher but rates well and is feared. FRENCH FIZZ (4) has been plain since the 55 win but runs along and will be in it for a long way back a bit in grade. IBINI (2) will use the rail and will be better for the new yard second-up. His best would have him around the mark. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sylvester. |

ORIENTAL GIRL (3) brings outstanding form from the last campaign and has won 3/5 fresh. Runs along and will be winning if presented on-song. SILENT EXPLORER (2) is first-up off a comfortable CL6 win when he was heavily-bet again. Usually needs a run but draws low and the winkers go on first time. Watch the market closely. HARD YAGA (4) led and impressed winning here first-up by a space. Was plain at Townsville after but is worth another chance. POLAR BLAST (1) is capable and will be ready to go off the 63 day spell. Gets the claim and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Oriental Girl. |

TENNESSEE BOY (5) brings a string of wins and has more to offer second-up. Looks to get the best run. APOLLINE (6) is an improver and is in the mix at s price. JIMMY WITHA DASH (2) resumes and is an ex SA galloper switched to the Potiris barn. Has placed 2/3 fresh and is up to this if presented on-song. MUSICAL GIRL (7) is ex NSW and resumes for the new yard with the blinkers applied. Was plain last campaign in better Maidens but deserves a betting watch. BREAK ON THROUGH (1) is also a former NSW galloper now on the Potiris yard. Needs to show more but might well do it. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with War Singa. |

Frenetic early exchange between Nice Retort, At Dusk and Clout. SHUNTER (10) improved sharply winning the CL6 here and then was outgraded at Townsville. Needs a good ride but gets the visors first time would win if he can repeat the effort two-back. NICE RETORT (2) is fast and led and won the CL3 before a close-up finish at Townsville this level. Uses the low gate and is a player with the 3kg claim. HIGH DIVE (4) comes to peak and is up to this at best. He has to be considered. FIREFIGHT (1) was well-supported her first-up run for the new yard but disappointed. His best Victorian form would give him a chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: The betting edge may be Shunter each/way on a day with plenty of short priced favourites. |
