Race 4 1400m Track: |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Plenty of pressure from Lovesick Blues, Wes Win and Minam battling for the lead over Konyazaka. WES WIN (6) has the most reliable profile among the main hopes, having placed in both starts at Kanazawa and over 1400m, then improving into second behind Love Me Beauty last time when beaten two lengths. MO MO THEORY (9) has comparable depth after a close second to Kimito Hikare two runs ago and a sound fourth here last start, so he looks the main danger if he turns that consistency into a winning effort. EOLSSU (5) is the improver, third at Kanazawa a fortnight ago after having work to do, though his odds-on failure the run prior remains a caution. KONYAZAKA (2) is more of a place-based inclusion: she has already placed at this track and distance, but her latest sixth means she needs to finish off better to trouble the top pair.

KING OF MIRACLE
KAZUYA IBI 2YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Returns from a five-week freshening after finishing sixth over 1700m at Mombetsu, beaten six and a half lengths by Black Tycoon when unable to quicken. He had filled the same position over 1700m there two weeks earlier, beaten six lengths by Oryza Recolte at generous odds. The class drop and race fitness help, but the return to 1400m leaves him looking more a place hope than a win anchor. |

KONYAZAKA
SHIGERU SATO 2YO CHESTNUT FILLY 55.0KG Tried hard enough without finishing the job when sixth at Kanazawa last start, beaten just under six lengths by Love Me Beauty at generous odds. Her previous second to Tamutami here reads better, even if that came in a small field and she was still beaten five lengths. She races handy and has placed at this track and distance, so she can hold a minor-money role if stronger late. |

THE KENROKUEN
Atsushi Ikeda 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Could not raise a challenge when seventh at Kanazawa last start, beaten nine and a half lengths by Love Me Beauty after settling handy. The run prior was even harder to make a case from, finishing last here and beaten over 16 lengths by Heart Sign at long odds. She remains unplaced from six starts, and the class drop alone is not enough to recommend a sharp turnaround. |

LOVESICK BLUES
KINYA SUGAWARA 2YO CHESTNUT FILLY 55.0KG Placed on debut at Kanazawa a fortnight ago, finishing second to Be The First, although the beaten margin of nine lengths keeps the performance in perspective. She worked home evenly from long odds and now has race experience on her side. With natural pace and a middle draw, she can be more effective second-up, but the winning bar still looks higher than the place bar. |

EOLSSU
KAZUMASA KANEDA 2YO CHESTNUT COLT 56.0KG Mill Farm Co. Ltd. Produced his best run of the preparation when third at Kanazawa last start, beaten four lengths by Love Me Beauty after having work to do and still finding the frame. That was a clear improvement on his fifth to Kimito Hikare, when sent out odds-on and beaten over 16 lengths. He has placed at both the track and trip, and another step forward makes him a genuine winning chance. |

WES WIN
AKIHIRO KAWAZOE 2YO BROWN FILLY 55.0KG Has built a tidy foundation with placings in both starts, most recently second at Kanazawa when beaten two lengths by Love Me Beauty after letting down well. Her debut third behind Stars Of Sawa also had merit given she was among the outsiders and still held a placing. Proven here and over 1400m, with further race fitness third-up, she brings the most dependable winning profile in the field. |

MINAM
KAZUMASA KANEDA 2YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Debuted with a placing at Kanazawa, but the detail is less compelling than the position suggests: third to Be The First, beaten nine and a half lengths, after tracking the speed and only working home fairly. The stable has depth in this race and he can improve with experience, yet the margin from that first outing says he needs to find several lengths before he becomes a serious threat. |

RYUNO GAPRAO
KAZUYOSHI KATO 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Finished last at Kanazawa a fortnight ago, beaten over 14 lengths by Love Me Beauty after giving away a big start and never getting into the race. Her previous sixth behind Heart Sign was also plain, beaten ten lengths at big odds after finding the right spot and offering little. She has a minor track-distance placing on the record, but recent form asks for a sizeable turnaround. |

MO MO THEORY
HIROYUKI TAJIMA 2YO BAY GELDING 56.0KG Made up good ground when fourth at Kanazawa last start, beaten just over four lengths by Love Me Beauty, and that effort followed a stronger second to Kimito Hikare when beaten a length and a half at long odds. He has already placed at this track and distance and rates well against this line-up on exposed form. The query is converting that consistency into a win, but he is right in the contest. |

UMADE SKY
SEIJI SUKITA 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Returns from a two-month break after a poor Mombetsu run over 1600m, finishing second last behind Malatang and well beaten at big odds after conceding a huge start. She had also been second last over 1100m there, beaten over 15 lengths by Tradescantia. Unplaced from six starts and dropping back in trip, she needs a much sharper showing before attracting confidence. |
