Daphnis and Meisho Hyuga can lead the small field. MEISHO HYUGA (4) sets the standard on exposed recent form, having won his past four and kept a perfect four-from-four record at Kanazawa. His latest 1400m win came at very short odds and the prior victory was by a long way, so the only real question is the sharper 900m assignment. CRAPE MYRTLE (2) looks the main danger after missing by just over half a length here over 1400m, and her broader Kanazawa record gives that run substance despite the distance drop. DAPHNIS (3) brings honest recent form, winning here two starts back before being run down late in 3yo+ B2 company, and his limited 900m record is positive. SCHON STADT (1) is harder to trust after being tailed off last start, but his earlier third and proven Kanazawa 900m form keep him in the minor-money conversation.

SCHON STADT
KAZUHIRO KATO 8YO DK B HORSE 57.0KG Normandy Thoroughbred Racing Co. Ltd. Was tailed off behind Presto Barows over 1400m at Kanazawa last start after having the job ahead and failing to close off, so that run has to be treated with caution. The run prior was far better when third in a 3yo+ C1C2 here, beaten two and a half lengths at generous odds. His Kanazawa 900m record gives him a way back into the placings, but he must rebound sharply to threaten the main chances. |

CRAPE MYRTLE
KAZUMASA KANEDA 6YO BAY MARE 55.0KG Satoshi Shimizu Went close at Kanazawa over 1400m last start, finishing third behind Laurel Runway and beaten just over half a length after being pipped near the post. That was a clear lift from her sixth in 3yo+ B2 company over 1500m. Seven wins and seven places from 23 starts here is a strong platform, though the drop to 900m is the main query. She is a serious winning chance if sharp enough early. |

DAPHNIS
KAZUMASA KANEDA 7YO BROWN GELDING 57.0KG Turf Sport Co. Ltd. Led and was only run down late when third to Best Tango in 3yo+ B2 company over 1500m at Kanazawa, beaten a length and a half despite being unwanted in the market. He had led throughout to beat Last Yommaru here over 1400m at his previous run. A winner and placegetter from two starts at 900m, he has the right recent profile to be competitive without being the clear top pick. |

MEISHO HYUGA
KAZUYOSHI KATO 6YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Yoshitaka Matsumoto Has strung together a dominant winning run at Kanazawa, most recently leading throughout over 1400m to beat Daiyu Bomber by two lengths as a heavily supported odds-on chance. His previous start was even more emphatic, clearing out to beat Uberwinden by a long way in 3yo+ C2 company. Four wins from four at this track and with Shoma Kato is compelling, with the 900m drop the only real test. |

RUBY PRINCESS
SEIJI SUKITA 8YO BAY MARE 55.0KG Finished sixth behind Piena Paprika over 1500m at Kanazawa last start, beaten two lengths after failing to finish it off and unwanted in the market. Her prior fifth in 3yo+ C1C2 was sound enough at long odds, but she remains unplaced from two starts at 900m. A past Kanazawa win is some comfort, yet she needs a sharper short-course effort to trouble these. |

KAZUHIRO KATO 6YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Norisada Ozawa Was a well-supported favourite at Kanazawa last start but finished seventh behind Presto Barows, beaten out of sight after coming under pressure late. That followed a last placing at Fukushima Dirt over 1150m, beaten over 19 lengths at big odds. He is third-up and gets class relief, but being unplaced in seven starts across the past 12 months leaves a major form turnaround required. |

TRE VITE
KAZUYA IBI 4YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Kentaro Yui Has been beaten over 14 lengths at her past two starts, most recently seventh behind Rocket Body over 1500m at Kanazawa after starting at generous odds. The run prior was a last placing in 3yo+ C2 company, where she was never a factor. She has won here before, but is unplaced in three attempts at this track and distance and needs a considerable lift. |
