Several of these have good gate speed so a strong tempo is expected. LONSTAR (5) hit the line strongly from well back to finish second over 1000m at Echuca last time out as the favourite. He will rise slightly in class here, but the 3kg weight drop will be a big help, so follow your money. NICEREINE (1) has been extremely consistent this prep with 3 straight minor placings, including a strong second at Morphettville Parks over 1000m 16 days ago in a tougher class. John Allen picking up the ride is a strong lead, and he can go one better in this. BECAUSEYOU'RE MINE (6) hasn't raced since finishing sixth at Donald in May when finishing sixth as the favourite. He resumes on his home course, and if the track conditions are not too bad, he can give this a shake. Check the market moves. COOL AS ICE (4) was in contention turning for home before fading into sixth at Bendigo after racing greenly under pressure in the run to the line. She is at her peak fitness now and can figure in the top 3. BIFROST (3) has been freshened up and is not without some claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lonstar can win this.
