Race 5 1400m Track: |

|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Solid tempo likely from Be The First and Shoga Domannaka. MOON OF GRIT (3) brings a compact but appealing profile, having run second on debut at Mombetsu before beating Maho by two lengths over 1100m as favourite. The clear query is the rise to 1400m after a two-month gap, but her race record reads strongly for a race of this nature. BE THE FIRST (2) was dominant on debut at Kanazawa, scoring by nine lengths from Lovesick Blues as a very short odds-on favourite, and she is already proven at this track and distance. KIMITO HIKARE (5) has the deepest local 1400m evidence, winning here two starts back and then running third behind Carino Sofia. TAMUTAMI (9) is harder to trust after failing as odds-on favourite last start, but her five-length win the run prior keeps her in the mix if she rebounds.

STAR ONE FUJISAN
KAZUYOSHI KATO 2YO DK B COLT 53.0KG Returns from a lengthy spell after finishing third at Kanazawa, but that placing came in a small field and he was beaten nine lengths by M Zak Dancer. His debut fourth over 900m was also well held behind Rider Suits, despite making some late ground from the rear. The 53kg helps, yet he needs to return sharper to trouble the main chances. |

BE THE FIRST
MASAYUKI NAKAGAWA 2YO DK B FILLY 55.0KG Made an immediate statement on debut at Kanazawa, winning by nine lengths from Lovesick Blues over this distance as a dominant favourite at a very short odds-on quote. She held a narrow advantage before letting down strongly, so the performance had substance as well as margin. With the winning rider back and a perfect one-from-one track-and-trip record, she looks a major threat again. |

MOON OF GRIT
KOJI FUJITA 2YO DK B FILLY 56.0KG Resumes after two months off following a strong Mombetsu win, where she beat Maho by two lengths over 1100m as favourite. That built neatly on her debut second to Mana Mahina, also at Mombetsu, so the form profile is clean and progressive. The rise to 1400m is the new test, but she has done little wrong and deserves to sit high in calculations. |

CAMELIA BLANC
KAZUMASA KANEDA 2YO DK B FILLY 55.0KG Dropped away to sixth at Kanazawa last start, beaten four and a half lengths by Carino Sofia after travelling in touch without ever threatening. Her previous second behind Heart Sign was better, but she has now placed without winning across five starts and finished behind Kimito Hikare a couple of weeks ago. Needs a firmer response before she appeals as a winning chance. |

KIMITO HIKARE
KAZUYOSHI KATO 2YO CHESTNUT FILLY 55.0KG Held her form well when third at Kanazawa last start, beaten two and a half lengths by Carino Sofia after looming and fighting on. The run prior was stronger, winning by a length and a half from Mo Mo Theory at this track. One win and two places from three starts at the track and distance is a telling asset, and she has the local grounding to take this right up to them. |

RUBY OCEAN
MASAYUKI NAKAGAWA 2YO GREY COLT 56.0KG Found the line with purpose for second at Kanazawa last start, beaten a length and a half by Carino Sofia at decent odds and finishing ahead of Kimito Hikare. His previous fifth behind Heart Sign was less convincing, though he did work home from well back. Three placings from four track-and-distance attempts keep him in the minor-money mix, but the maiden tag remains the issue. |

SHOGA DOMANNAKA
SEIJI SUKITA 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Led at Kanazawa last start but could only finish fifth, beaten just over four lengths by Carino Sofia after starting an outside chance in betting. She had been favourite when third behind Heart Sign the start prior, so the latest effort was a backward step. With just one placing from four tries at the track and distance, she needs to lift again to be a serious factor. |

KAGANO JEWEL
KINYA SUGAWARA 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Improved into fourth at Kanazawa last start, beaten just under three lengths by Carino Sofia after looming without quite going on with it. That was a better run than her previous sixth behind Keen To Win, when she was safely held after being near the top of betting. Third-up fitness helps, but being unplaced in both 1400m runs keeps the winning case in check. |

TAMUTAMI
Atsushi Ikeda 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Failed badly as odds-on favourite at Kanazawa last start, finishing seventh and beaten eight and a half lengths by Carino Sofia without offering a serious challenge. Her previous run was much better, a five-length win from Konyazaka, also as odds-on favourite. That peak run says she can compete, but she needs to rebound quickly after a plain effort with no obvious excuse. |

PIKAICHI
MASAYA SUZUKI 2YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Was unwanted in the market and never looked likely when second last at Kanazawa, beaten just under nine lengths by Carino Sofia. The run prior was weaker again, finishing last in a small field and beaten over 18 lengths by Kanetoshi Eld at big odds. Unplaced in all seven starts, including six at this track and distance, he has a steep task. |
