Genuine tempo anticipated with good speed engaged. CAPTAIN EFFICIENT (3) was doing his best work late when third over 1000m on the Inside course last time. The fitting of the blinkers and compression mask seems to have done the trick. He may be rewarded for consistency. VALIEVA (2) ran a good race when third over this course and distance last start. Serino Moodley is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her when it matters most. GOLDEN ASPEN (6) stayed on well when fourth over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. It is encouraging that Marco van Rensburg steps back into the saddle and the combination cannot be ignored. MARIACHI MADNESS (7) stayed on well when third over this course and distance last time. Well worth considering.
