Lots of speed predominantly from Krackacan, Whiskey River and Gold Classic. GOLD CLASSIC (3) raced close to the pace and fought on gamely to finish fourth as favourite at Cairns 18 days ago, and may have been short of a gallop with 5 weeks between runs leading into that race. She will be spot on with her fitness now and is set to make amends. Follow your money. KRACKACAN (1) won 2 of his 3 starts in his initial prep and was runner-up in the last of those before having a well-earned spell. He bolted home in a recent Rockhampton trial and resumes with the blinkers on for the first time. A 3kg claim will make him hard to hold out here. WHISKEY RIVER (6) needed his last start at Cairns and will be a lot sharper for this assignment. He is having just his second start from the Ricky Ludwig stable, and can figure in the top 3. NOOSHBAHOOSH (8) was swamped in the final strides at Cairns last start and finished runner-up by a head. Ash Butler sticks with him, and from the pole position, the pair will be in the finish again. SUGGESTED PLAY: In a very competitive field, Gold Classic can get the job done.
