Mount Pinatubo can take up the running at a strong tempo. Genuine tempo with Mount Pinatubo likely to find himself in front. ZIYASHA (2) is better than his last two starts over 1200m. He took a keen hold in the early stages of both those races and did not go on with the effort. Five of his six career victories have come over this distance. Callan Murray is booked to ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner's enclosure. WILLIAM ROBERTSON (1) ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint last time. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this course and distance. Rates well as a leading chance. MOUNT PINATUBO (4) produced a strong finish when winning his last start over this course and distance. He returns from a spell. If not in need of the run, he should be involved at the finish. QUANTUM THEORY (6) has finished second in his last four starts. Muzi Yeni steps back into the saddle and the combination merit obvious consideration.
