Moderate pace with Mightymaxi rolling to the lead and setting the tempo. IFFYCOULD (4) stepped up to this trip here 9-days ago and did a good job to place after settling last. Has Newitt aboard today and is likely to settle closer. Looks ready to win. CHICANE (3) ran a much improved race beaten a nose on the synthetic over 1880m. He's trialled since and has run some tidy races this course/distance. Should secure a soft run and gets his chance. VINO NOVELLO (1) has been racing well enough, mixing trips and surfaces. He just missed three back here at the distance and has a 3kg claim which brings him into it. CAPTAIN MORGAN (6) was plain in the Iffycould race but was a big winner at Longford prior over a staying journey. His Hobart pacing over 2100m before that was good, also. Maps well and is placed well-enough to feature. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Iffycould.
