A hot tempo is expected with plenty of speed engaged. WINTERONTHEGREEN (3) showed good improvement when second over this course and distance last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She meets a similar field and with Craig Zackey retaining the ride, she can go one better. CHAMPAGNE MAC (4) was disappointing over 1200m on this course last time. His penultimate run when second over 1100m catches the eye. Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies takes the 2.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause. If putting his best foot forward, he should figure in the finish. COUNTRY TIME (2) finished fourth last time out as favourite over 1100m at this track. Boasts a win and seven minor placings from 15 starts at this track and distance. Well worth considering. GOLDEN IDEAL (7) produced another moderate effort last start when finishing eighth over 1200m at this track. Looks well placed to return to form.
