Plenty of unraced runners engaged which muddies the map a little. It is fair to assume a solid tempo. CHANCE ENCOUNTER (1) produced a promising debut effort over this course and distance last start. He took time to find his feet but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected should be the one to beat. BUGLE BOY (8) showed good speed over this course and distance last time before getting outrun late. He is a progressive type and may have more to come. SAUDI CAT (7) is an imported son of Hurricane Cat from the Vaughan Marshall stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. MUTINY IN HEAVEN (14) is a son of Dark Angel from the James Crawford stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. If not too green in running, he should give a good account of himself.
