No surprise if the newcomers played a key role in the tempo of the race with little speed on paper. BEAUTY DASH (5) settled midfield and made minimal inroads in the run home on debut last start over 1000m at Kembla. Won't find this as tough and the extra furlong looks ideal. Can improve enough to take this out. HOLD MY DRINK (1) is back from a spell and has transferred from the Freedmans in Victoria to Mitch Beer. Wasn't beaten far in either run during the maiden campaign. Trialled well at Kembla recently and looks all set for a bright return to racing. WESTERN LANE (4) ran a better race last start with the step up in trip, racing on the speed then battling on okay for fourth over this distance at Kembla. Beautifully drawn and is a threat back in a country maiden. GIRLS WEEKEND (7) got a long way back and was never a hope first-up over 1000m at Kembla. Brighter prospects out to this trip. LIGHTLY SPARKLED (8) can improve second-up over this more suitable journey. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Beauty Dash.
