Good pace from Nannu, Tavanasia and Benyatta. THE MANAGER (4) won his maiden over this distance at Tamworth two runs ago then wasn't the best away and couldn't recover last start at Bathurst. Very fit gelding who is a big chance if things go his way from a tricky draw. TAVANASIA (1) won two on the bounce then was given a thirty-day freshen-up before finishing midfield over 1280m at Orange last Sunday. The pipes were cleared by that outing so back at his pet trip he poses a serious threat. NAVAL OFFICER (6) has been finding the line well in shorter races without threatening, most recently finishing fourth in a Class 2 at Coonamble. Looks ready for another tilt at 1400m. WONDER BRAHMA (8) has found the line well and not been beaten far at his past couple. Cherry ripe after four runs back and cannot be ruled out. HOWLING VICTORY (9) was back in form at Muswellbrook last start. Sound each-way prospects. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Manager to win.
