Genuine tempo from Corbulo leading Star Ruler. Tough middle distance maiden. GREY NORTHERN (10) is hard fit and hasn't been far away. Good two back in tougher at the Valley then back to mile got home for fourth at Pakenham last time. Back to the right trip now and with a little freshen can find best form. THUNDER FORCE (8) is overdue with placings at two of three this time in. On speed and third over a mile last time and now out in journey should go close. SUPERSTOCK (6) has been winding up strongly in tougher recently, the latest at Sandown over 1800m when fourth. At top now and should be in the finish. STAR RULER (5) is the form horse, putting together two wins on end when hitting the line hard to score. Penalised another 2kg for that win but hard too knock the winning form. TRADEWORX (7) got home well for a close-up sixth last time and fitter again and with the claim is among the main hopes. SUGGESTED PLAY: Grey Northern can atone.
