Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Escarcha. ESCARCHA (1) pushed forward and went on to record a determined win last start by 1.3 lengths over 1400m at this track. Will be up on the speed from the low draw. Tackling a deeper field this time but he is up to the task. MEINER HITZE (11) started this preparation with a win two runs ago. Less impressive last time out when fifth over 1400m at this track, beaten 9 lengths after being in contention on the turn. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. D FANKS (4) turned in a fine effort to win by 0.8 lengths at today's course and distance last start in a nice progression on the first-up run. Must raise the bar but this looks well within his grasp. KOKORO ODORU (7) ran below expectations last start, finishing fifth and beaten 4.5 lengths at this track over 1600m. Can bounce back.
