Expecting Mafia to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. A good contest. VILLASAURUS (12) is in a strong local yard and is well-placed to take this out. Comes off an impressive win in a country qualifier over 1400m at Wagga two-and-a-half weeks ago. Has to come back to a shorter sprint off a wide gate but keeps McDougall and tumbles in weight. He can finish over the top. ONE DESTINY (8) won a 64 at Newcastle and then missed by 1.5L in Open grade at Canberra. Draws awkwardly but will be fitter again and should be right in it. GREATHAM BOY (7) deserved his easy 66 win over this trip at Wangaratta and will be better for it. Has plenty of early speed and Queenslander Michael Rodd is a key jockey engagement. He also has claims. FINE VINTAGE (3) will push forward and rides the speed. Won a 72 at Canterbury two back and went close there the two each side of that. Has to be considered as well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Villasaurus.
