Good pace from Wambeen, Hells Spirit and Sturty who can get across. AURORA RISE (10) is extremely well placed. Went close twice in Tasmania in Stakes grade and arrives here on the fresh side. Has jumped out well at Ballarat since last seen and expect her to settle back from the outside gate and power over the top. RIVERBEND UNICORN (3) improved again, beaten a nose at Wagga over 1600m. Gives every indication the middle distance will suit, and the 25% course striker McDougall stays aboard. BOTTAS (6) just beat the above home at Wagga, finishing hard. Has more weight but scope for further improvement. BRUNDEE TOM (7) comes out of the same race where he lacked finishing dash. Has the blinkers on for the first time and Jess Taylor is reunited. Deserves consideration over the longer journey. SUGGESTED PLAY: Aurora Rise is hard to go past.
