Strong tempo headed by D'arpano pressing on with Sizzling Tale and Dao Sun showing speed. TYCOON ARTIE (3) registered a win and a narrow defeat in consecutive BM50 sprints at Tumut before failing in a Class 2 last start over this trip at Albury. Freshened up and drops back sharply in grade so expect him to bounce back to form. POWERSTONE (8) appreciated the drop in class with a strong win in a comparable race to this at Gunnedah a fortnight ago. Loves this distance so with a bit of luck from an awkward gate she should be highly competitive again. CHOICE DEEL (12) ran her best race of the campaign last Sunday when a closing second over today's journey at Orange. Down in grade and the quick back-up is a positive sign from the stable. DAO SUN (4) has recorded two big wins in his last three appearances, both of them coming in 1000m BM50 contests. Certainly has the right credentials. Perennial placegetter THE MOOCH (9) boasts a better than 50% top three strike-rate at 1000m. Finished alongside Choice Deel at Orange on Sunday so must be considered. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tycoon Artie just gets the nod but little separates the top handful.
