Good tempo with several going forward, primarily Chinaberry, Golden Rule and Cats Pajamas. CATS PAJAMAS (7) was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance at Scottsville. He was slow into stride and got up where it matters most. He has won three times and finished third once from five starts on this course. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and he can bring up the hat-trick. OXALIS GOLD (5) set the pace over this distance at Turffontein and found extra to hold all challengers at bay. She usually holds her form when fit and could take some pegging back again. O'TENIKWA (8) is better than his last start over this distance at Kenilworth. He ran a fair race when fourth in the Grade 1 Cape Guineas in his penultimate run. He has the gate speed to overcome the widest draw, and if fit, he can figure in the top 3. DANTONFROMSANDTON (2) is better than his last two starts. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. He gets his chance to show his true worth here and would not be a shock winner.
