Diani, What A Fortune and Golden Rule to battle for the lead at a strong tempo. THE SPECIALIST (2) acquitted himself well in the Grade 2 TAB Senor Santa Stakes last start and the strength of that form has since been reinforced. His record at this distance is excellent, featuring three wins and multiple placings, and if he handles the polytrack he looks the horse to beat. WHAT A FORTUNE (8) continues to perform consistently and receives valuable assistance from a 2.5kg apprentice claim. With the right run in transit, he shapes as a leading contender for the minor honours and could easily go one better. THISISWHATITMEANS (6) is worth forgiving for his latest effort after being reported not to have been striding out freely. The break since that run may have refreshed him, and his proven suitability to this course and distance makes him a serious threat. DIANI (5) produced a solid third-place finish over 1600m last time and now drops back in trip. If he stays within striking range turning for home, he has the ability to make his presence felt in the finish.
