Good early pressure anticipated with a large representation of first starters. VEGA VIXEN (3) narrowly on top. She got a good run on debut here but won well, coming clear in good time to score by 1.3 lengths. Heavy ground down the Flemington straight last time was a tough ask but she kept trying up on speed, back around a bend and drawn perfectly can see her bounce back. FARMELIA (6) looked handy winning on debut here over 1000m, getting home nicely to score. Up to 1200m should suit off that, go close again. VIVID STORM (2) tried hard on tough ground at Caulfield on debut when second. He can come on from that and roll forward from out wide. NEVEU (1) has looked handy in Adelaide winning well latest and can measure up from a good draw. RUPTURED (4) is a Hanseatic gelding on debut for the Freedman yard who can run well, albeit the stable are struggling of late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Vega Vixen to win.
