Expecting Maurraqa to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. FARNESINA (7) led all the way to win a Sunshine Coast maiden first-up over 1200m two runs back. Stayed at that trip at Eagle Farm last start where she couldn't quicken and was a spent force soon after straightening. Back in grade and should appreciate a slightly longer trip now. Worth following up. CRESSBROOK (1) has been very good in two runs this prep, the latest offering an eye-catching second over 1200m at Eagle Farm in a BM65. Cherry ripe now and will find this far easier. The 63kgs is the only niggle. MOET AT MIDNIGHT (8) comfortably scored when fresh from a spell two back at Beaudesert then struggled in a better race at the Gold Coast more recently. Beautifully drawn and coming back to this level he poses a serious threat. MAURRAQA (3) last raced when he bolted in over this course and distance on debut in November. Today's race does not set up nearly as well but he is untapped and clearly above average. GAMING (6) was five weeks between runs last start so can improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Farnesina each-way.
