Plenty of runners but a dawdling affair is on the cards. THE CHAMPION (9) best effort in four career starts when he launched from last on the turn with an unlucky second over 1250m at Newcastle. Will relish the extra trip from the inside gate. Hard to hold out. SUPERATA (2) just over a month between runs when he warmed up late for an eye-catching fourth to Your Chilli over 1300m at Canberra. That form has since been franked and kept up to the mark with an 816m trial at Warwick Farm. Trip suits and shapes as the main danger. SOLID (5) back for his third prep after disappointing in four career starts. Returns with the one Rosehill trial placing over 1030m. Tongue-tie comes off and gets map favours. Each way. PINK PERSUASION (1) progressive filly expected to get off the mark quickly this time in. Raced in stronger company last prep and wasn't pushed out in her two trials. Likely to go back from the gate and close off. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 9,2,5,1.
