Tricky one to map with a large contingent of first starters but expect good early pressure. BARRACKS (2) one of the few two-year-olds with race experience on his side. Gripped on late with a solid second on debut over 900m at Newcastle. Kept ticking over with a trial win since at Warwick Farm. Well drawn with the cross-over nose band going on. AIR OF SOLACE (1) I Am Invincible colt from Odeum on debut for the Waller stable. Has shown enough in the two trials to suggest he should be forward enough for this. PORTICO (4) shifted out shortly after the start and pulled up with a slow recovery rate on debut with a fading eighth over 1100m at Randwick Kensington. Look for a solid improvement with that run under the belt. PORTLAND MISS (7) Portland Sky filly from Shimmering Light on debut for the Richard & Will Freedman yard. Finished a close fourth in her latest Warwick Farm trial over 818m. Tongue-tie goes on and stays in the calculations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Barracks with the race experience on his side.
