Expecting Novela to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip.
DARK GLEAM (1) saves his best form for this distance range with three wins and three placings from just six attempts and will be high on confidence following a dominant last-start victory, albeit in lesser company. Should be right there when the whips are cracking. HEAD HONCHO (2) has only missed the top-two once in four attempts over this track and trip and gets Wiggins on top from the favourable draw. Definite winning prospects. Former SA galloper NOVELA (4) was too bad to be true in his first run for the new stable but the form he showed down south was good enough for a race like this. Worth another chance. LET'S RIDE (11) is a two-time winner here who may earn some minor money. CANDLELIT (3) rounds out the selections in a race with a long tail.
