Hot Chestnut is the likely leader at a strong tempo. DREYMON (8) racing well on the provincial circuit and gets his chance on the backup. Powered late from the outside gate when an eye catching fifth over 1250m at Newcastle on August 26. Near his top and Stanley sticks. THE CONTRACTOR (1) improving gelding who gets a much better run today and will appreciate Zoe Hunt's claim. Had to work hard early from the sticky gate when a plugging fifth over 1300m at Dubbo. Blinkers come off and a win looks imminent. PINOT NERO (11) encouraging return when he chipped away late to run fifth over 1280m at Muswellbrook. Maps well in a fairly thin maiden. TORANAGA (4) Maurice gelding out of Fifteen Aria on debut for Howlett yard. Finished second in her lone Scone trial over 900m on August 13. Worth plenty of thought. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dreymon and The Contractor to fight it out.
