TANABATA (1) finished second two runs back at this track, then improved last time out to score by 5 lengths as the public elect over 1400m at this track. Masaaki Ohata scored on him last time and retains the ride. Steps up a level, but he is up to the task. NOCTURNALITY (9) showed little early speed and was always well back last start when eighth over this journey at this track. Nicely placed to make amends. LA LA EFFORT (3) showed good early speed and raced on the pace when first-up after a spell last start before fading to finish well back over 1500m at this track. She strips fitter and must be included among the main hopes. EDONO VIOLET (7) strode forward early from her wide draw over 1500m at this track last time, leading for much of the way before fading to finish fifth. She will again take some pegging back, especially from a kinder gate.
