Sapphires Son has the pace to lead in what is likely to be a moderate tempo. HERON (3) has been much better in her last two, most recently finishing a game second over this trip at Newcastle. Easier this time and she's building strongly. Should be right in the thick of things again. IT IS TO BE (5) is been knocking on the door. Strips fitter on the short turnaround and is sure to be making his presence felt late in the piece. Shapes as the testing material. DRUNKEN SAILOR (1) got too far back last start at Bathurst but picked up strongly in the lane to finish midfield. Was only beaten narrowly over this journey two back at Goulburn when well supported. Back in trip suits and he’s a key player. SAPPHIRES SON (6) found it too tough in stronger company last start and is better placed here, with peaks that measure up. Worth including. JALMARI (10) hasn't won for a long time but could sneak into the frame if they pour it on for him early. SUGGESTED PLAY: Heron to win.
